LOOT doesn't work with MO2
After all this time, I finally decided to give Skyrim SE a try. I'll make this quick, basically LOOT doesn't launch when I try to use it from MO2. It gives me the error: failed to spawn: "LOOT.exe" The parameter is incorrect.

I've tried uninstalling and relocating LOOT in different places in my PC, even where MO2 is located, but nothing happens. When I try to use LOOT.exe in its file location, it only has the main game and its DLCs located. Dunno what else to do.

Have you already tried adding the launch variable in mo2 to the loot exe?

Appears to be a common problem where loot does not have the correct file path.

The addition I have found is:
"--game=Skyrim Special Addition"

So did you go to "edit" after clicking on the dropdown menu and actually set the location of loot.exe? MO2 doesn't detect loot automatically, though the sort button is basically loot already built in. If you still can't get it working, make sure you are using an updated version of MO2 (at least 2.1.1).

Yes, I'm using 2.1.1

I also set the path for LOOT when using edit but it still gives me the same message. The sort button also doesn't work, that gives me a different message: failed to spawn "lootcli.exe"

Mo2 install issue then?

Ok so, after running usvfs_proxy.exe LOOT works and detects my load order. However it gives me an error saying: Cannot read property 'status' of undefined. This doesn't allow my load order to be sorted. My Norton protection then removes usvfs_proxy.exe. This creates the same problem again I was having at the start when I can't open LOOT again.

Sounds like av issue. Can you add loot and mo2 as exceptions or set them to run as admin?

I can, however, LOOT then only detects Skyrim and its DLC but not the mods I've installed. :deadweight:

Can you launch anything else(SSEEdit or the game) through MO2 and have mods show up? It sounds like your MO2 install isn't configured for SSE correctly. With some of the earlier builds of MO2, there were some additional steps needed to get it to work nice with SSE. Try reinstalling MO2 and make sure you didn't put MO2 in your game directory or program files as those areas cause issues.

Just on the outside chance, you arnt part of or using a Windows Insider version are you?

Solved!

My virus protection disabled a lot of files and .exe that came with MO2 because it found it could do harm. I just allowed it and restored the files.
