No, why would I change the name of tesedit to sseedit ?
xEdit is scripted to detect the ini and exe of the game that its name matches:
Rename to TES4Edit.exe to work with Oblivion.
Rename to FO3Edit.exe to work with Fallout3.
Rename to FNVEdit.exe to work with New Vegas.
This is all the readme states, but it applies to SSE as well.

Did you change the name of tes5edit.exe to SSEEdit.exe?

Because xEdit is the same executable file for a lot of games. TES5Edit is when you use it for Oldrim, SSEEdit is for SSE, FO4Edit for Fallout 4, etc..
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Why would you use the wrong program in the first place? Instead of raging defensively maybe you should start thinking critically. Then you won't have to rage defensively so hard next time.
