Brinewater Grotto?!

Needless to say, I'm trying to track down the, "alternate source" on the thieves guild thing because I ended up killing the guy I was shadowing 30 levels ago. I get to this grotto {where it's sending me}, there's dudes behind an obvious door of which I can't figure out how to open. The arrow is pointing to inside whatever is there. I've been outside and back 1000 times.

Also, as a vampire, how do you do bite attacks on PC? Yes, while in vampire lord form.

You have to go in via the East Empire Warehouse that is at the docks. The problem is he has to be there to finish the quest as well so I hope that works for you but I guess if you get there and it won't complete somehow there are always console commands. The path to the door inside the warehouse is follow the docks around inside the warehouse and then you will find some stairs that go down into some water behind some shelves and that is where the door is at.
Edit: There is also a cabin up a path near the secret path that has a map that you can sell to Delvin.

Get a Platter and the Whirlwind Sprint Shout. Drop the platter on the ground and hold the (A) button (on a 360 controller) to pick it up without taking it (it'll float in front of you). Hold the platter against the obvious door and trigger the Shout to run through the platter and door into the passageway beyond. It might take several attempts, and you will most likely have to hunt the platter down after each failed attempt.

Or, go back to the Warehouse outside Solitude and wind your way through it to the correct passage Atoli mentioned.

If you have killed Gajul Ei, the quest has failed. Brynjolf specifically says NOT to kill him.

Perfect! I was losing my mind with this one. Found the door as you described, found the stuff I needed and went on from there without issue! Thanks a ton!
