If you don't like CBBE just ditch it. What's the problem? You sound like someone's forcing you to use certain mods.
That's the great part about mods - you can mix n' match as you please to create exactly the game that fits your preferences. Though the modern CBBE for SSE is the best pick out there so it's understandable that you're trying to get it up and running, can't fault you for that.
As for your actual problem, it'd be helpful if you'd link the mod in question. I suspect you mean different body types with the presets so there's likely download options ranging from CBBE to a bunch of UUNP-based prehistoric shapes. A common occurrance with follower mods.
You shouldn't use any non-CBBE body with CBBE. Just use the CBBE body and reshape that to fit whatever style you're after.
If your characters look weird, download a different texture pack. Nexus has a wide variety to choose from. Just make certain that you grab a compatible texture pack as UNP and CBBE use different UV mapping.

Note that her body is custom made, and doesn't line up anywhere close to any of the presets that come with the bodyslide mod. Also, they were made for the original Skyrim, so she doesn't have an SE bodyslide preset.
The 'armor' I was trying to put on her is this:

As for the follower, I suspect the guy that uploaded her is a troll. For one, she doesn't come with any equipment of her own, meaning that she has no equipment that's designed with her one-of-a-kind preset. Also, her build makes no sense. She relies solely on 'water magic' to deal damage, which the game treats as frost magic. So that means that most of the enemies in the game are resistant to all her offensive spells. Also, her highest stat is stamina, despite her being obviously a mage. She has no skills other than destruction, alteration, conjuration, and I believe restoration. She also knows healing and the various flesh spells, but other than that, she's pretty useless honestly.
And I can't find any texture replacers for SE. The number of mods that have been ported over are rather minimal. I can't even recreate the load order I had for the original skyrim.
I'm really thinking of just giving up on this follower. She's of no practical use, and you can't give her any equipment besides staves (at least, unless you want a serious appearance change). That one custom 'armor' (I found it in clothing, but two of the pieces are actually counted as light armor, believe it or not) is the only thing I found that really fits her unusual theme at all. Everything else I can find just looks out of place on her.
I found out about her outdated preset on the mod page btw. Apparently no one can make an armor fit her, because the mod author won't release her preset. And besides that, its for the oldrim, so it wouldn't be compatible at all with the newrim.
Right now, I'm just going to continue my current playthrough (I wasn't planning on making use of her for my current character anyway). And later I may try to figure out why FNIS won't work for me, even though i follow the installation instructions to the letter. I'm more concerned with that mod right now than my worthless follower anyway.
As for my post, I just wasted hours trying to get everything to work and ended up driving myself crazy as a result. Oh, and nexus appeared to be having stability issues that day, which didn't help much at all (it would take minutes for a single picture to load, imagine trying to find a custom armor with THAT going on).
Now, that's obviously a problem in a CBBE game. Unfortunately her unique textures won't work on CBBE unless manually converted to do so--if you're up for that I'm sure there are some tutorials for that somewhere on the internet. You'd need a photoshop-like program though.
Most Oldrim CBBE textures will work fine in SSE if you are running windows 10, as long as the file format is .dds.
I would also be wary of accusing modders of being trolls for something so silly.
It's just a highly customized follower. Mods typically come as-is and in all flavors. People do stuff they like and sometimes plop it online for others to enjoy.
Either you figure out how to utilize it or you don't. It's not the author's job. And by the looks of that follower, I doubt combat is the main reason to use her although having skills in restoration is surely helpful.
As for the body, no presets would affect her anyway since she's using her own body meshes. Moreover, she's built on UNP. If you simply swap her body with the CBBE one her special custom skin texture will pretty likely get mismatched.
The slider preset can be found on the Oldrim page but it's for UUNP, not CBBE so it won't do you much good. What you need is to use the CBBE-based slider sets so the UUNP based Bodyslide preset is unfortunately useless for your purposes. You have to build your game around either UNP or CBBE and either scrap stuff that's incompatible or tweak stuff to fit your game.
There are ways to get her work though. What you might try to do, in case remapping UVs isn't your thing is to attach the new CBBE properties right on top of the body after manually adjusting it to zero-slider CBBE reference within Outfit Studio by either straight from a template, making one of your own or by hand-editing & utilizing sliders.
It's kind of a hack but might just do the trick. Straight body swap and remapping the UVs is cleaner.
Though by what you said, I suspect you intend to keep her original body shape and would rather adjust the armors to fit her, not the other way around. Then what you should do is to pop her body up in Outfit Studio and slide the CBBE reference body to resemble that shape. Write down the slider properties and then create a preset with Bodyslide using those.
That won't give you a 100% fit likely but you can manually reshape the slider properties where needed. Even without that, you can get close enough if you're willing to invest time to the reshaping process and experimenting with different sliders.
In any case, whatever you do, it involves some work so if you're already frustrated, might be best to just drop it. She can be converted to work with CBBE but not with two clicks.
Modding will drive you nuts if you shoot from the hip. Read up on a tutorial or two and follow them. Will save you a lot of time and nerves in the long run.
Finally, I'm not sure what you mean by being unable to find textures. There's plenty in Nexus alone. Leyenda, Mature Skin, Pride of Valhalla, Silky Smooth Skin... And you can use Oldrim ones as well. The few I've tested work just fine. You might run into some shader issues but haven't spotted any myself yet.
As for celyria, I discovered that the mod author's presets were also for the oldrim. That would explain why his presets weren't working.
I haven't even made use of the follower yet, but honestly I may end up just just deleting her mod. From what I've seen of this mod author, he can't be trusted. He uploads a character with a one-of-a-kind preset and no equipment that will fit her, links to oldrim mods, and built a follower that makes no practical sense. I mean, she has no magicka. You would need to give your enchanted equipment just so that she can cast her spells!
If that doesn't say 'troll mod author', I don't know what does.
In fact, right at the top of her page:
I OFFER NO SUPPORT FOR MY PORTS TO SE
It's not because it was made for Oldrim that is the issue, but that the SSE Bodyslide doesn't have support for UUNP, only CBBE bodies. Thus people on SSE who have wanted to use UUNP-type body presets have done so by copying over the relevant files from Oldrim, which is an unsupported but functional method.
It's the same process you need to go through to make UUNP Vanilla Outfit Bodyslides SE[www.nexusmods.com] work.
