mannequin armor disappearing issue
My game worked great for a long time, but now for some reason I have this mannequin glitch. If I add armor to a mannequin it does show up at first. But when I leave the house and come back later, it does not show. It is still in their inventory, but not showing. Sometimes it also pops up in my inventory, but is also on the mannequins inventory. So it is also a duplication glitch.

It is not the house (Blackthorn manor), because it has worked before and I also think there is no current bug for that house that causes this.

I did add a few mods after I already started this save, but they were houses to check and followers. Can these cause this bug? I don't even know where to start with this. NMM and LOOT don't give errors.

I suspect one of those recent house mod conversions from Oldrim that I tried (and uninstalled already) was the culprit then.

To be clear, I know that Blackthorn does not give that problem. I am using it as my playerhome atm, and had it installed from the beginning of that playthrough. But since then I tried several other house mods, just to check them. And at some point, I noticed amour disappearing from the mannequins.

I am very picky with houses and because their video showcases not always show how the cells are seperated, I always want to check them ingame. I don't like it if it has loading doors that I end up using a lot. Hm, maybe I should learn to change a house mod instead.

Anyway, thanks for all the help. I am going to use this save now to check some other houses before deciding what to use and start a new playthrough. I want a different weather mod and ENB anyway. I am definately going to stick to the same mods from the start this time.

Are you positive what he has is just a house mod? You don't know if the author changed anything do you? Keep in mind that the over-write from this mod is being applied to ALL MANNEQUINS AND HOUSEHOLD CONTAINERS in the game.
Then... didnt you literally sugest yourself to just stay in a place where the non-reset scripts arent triggered?

And i assumed its the housemod because its literally the only thing he gave us to work with.

Only applies if the mod uses vanilla assets - if the mod author used non- vanilla assets or has scripted events, you'll break things. The fact of it veing a "house" mod has nothing to so with it .

You are assuming the scripts arent isolated from other NPCs like they should, and that the assets actually replaced the original files.
My suggestion was to carry over the relevant ussep changes, not completely remove the mod(s). I also stated I couldn't guarantee it would be safe/stable.

In regards to your response to smr's post, banking on a clean mod is a bad idea. Given that the mod isn't porting an obvious fix from ussep is an indication that caution should be exercised.

Ahha! Ports!

Glad to hear you aren't squimish about restarts to get stuff working right.

Darzai - as to the weather mod, try Obsidian Weathers and Seasons - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12125
A lot of us here are using it and find it to be very nice. I switched over to it from Vivid Weathers (which I used in Oldrim), as Vivid just didn't seem to work as well in SSE. As to ENB, you may want to take a look at Natural View Tamriel (NVT) ENB - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11203
Of course, with ENBs everyone's taste is different!

I was using Vivid Weathers yes, and ELFX. But somehow it made surfaces at noon too bright for my taste and interiors too dark. I hate having trouble seeing things in dungeons. I am OCD about finding all loot :p
I will look at Obsidian Weathers and Seasons. I was also considering Rustic Weathers and lighting.
As for ENB, I was thinking something with more saturation and no blurring parts you are not focussing on. Not sure how else to describe that. But the blurring can be annoying in 3rd person. I switch a lot between 1st and 3rd person (I am one of those that uses 3rd person to look around a corner:p ).

The blurring! That's the field of view (FOV). Can't stand it - but almost all ENBs have it. You just need to turn it off in the ENB's ingame menu (usually accessed by hittting shift and enter). Turned it off for the ENB's I'm using in both Oldrim and SSE. I have enought trouble seeing stuff far away in RL, at least in the game I want to be able to see!

The mannequins stopped producing Nordic armor; now one is producing ancient Nordic armor (just the breastplate) over the glass armor I put on it.
