I use wrye bash for bashed patch
I use SSE Edit for fixing dirty files
What else do i need to do to play 100s of mods without crashes cause i know this can be done. a few have said in forums
Knowing the material in the above thread will easily get you over 100 mods.
The game will not run more than 255 plugins. To accomplish this, plugins need to be merged.
It would appear the op is already aware of this. Plus, not all mods require active plugins.
BTW Danario, which mod manager are you using?
And yes i am legit lol
@Dylanthecarpenter i know someone who apparantly has over 700 mods and is fine.
@Smiffy Yes i do but what i know about conflicts is that the LOOT does sort out the load order, looked at 3 mods and all 3 were already sorted by loot (the instructions was to put them below in the load order)
I'd assume you are referring to seeing smr's 1000+ mod build. He is playing sle, and has meticulously hand edited the vast majority of his mods to be compatibility with one another, spending 1000s of hours in editing programs and 1000s of hours play-testing to check for errors.
Start small, work big. Aim for 200 mods working smoothly over an extended game. Then try for 250. Then 300, and so on.
50-100 mods for your initial build is great. Once you can get those stable, then look to add more if you want. 200-300 mods is generally a good comfort point for most people. You can do a LOT with a medium build like that. 300+ and you're looking at a lot of work, one slip-up causing massive headaches and frustration.
Use Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex. NMM is a dinosaur and should be junked. Vortex is still in Alpha, I think, but it works well from what I've heard. I prefer MO2 though, so I'm biased AF. Using either of them is almost a requirement for a large, stable mod build for newer modders. NMM is a train wreck waiting to happen.
Just to be clear, when you are building a larger mod list, you have to stop every so often and play for a while to make sure what you've done is stable. 5, 10, 20 mods, whatever you are comfortable with for testing. You might find you have 0 issues in 90% of the worldspace, then go to Solitude and your game crashes like a plane because of a mod. Testing and more testing will eat a lot of time up when you're putting together a build.
It can be done, and the best place to start is reading through the pinned topics at the top of the forum.
- Awareness of the Load Order of each individual mod
- Avoidance of mods that might be incompatible with one another
- Knowing how many performance eaters your PC can handle at once
At the end of the day, it's just the same as you operate your Computer, you don't want any obsolete software that may lower your overall performance, aswell.
Just some simple replacers and a few bits of armor will run up 30-40 GB quickly. I run my games off my 2TB HDD, so I have plenty of room. If you are tight on space, consider keeping your builds small until you can get something bigger.
