Arvak's Skull

Arvak's Skull has been riding around in my inventory for a while now. I thought I was supposed to find the soul who gave me the quest to return it to him, but I just read that he's supposed to appear when I pick up the skull. That means there's a bug. It's far too late for me to reload an old save. Is there a way I can use console commands to force the soul to reappear or perhaps return the skull to it's original location so I can try again?

PC 360 PS3 The game might not register that the skull has been acquired, thus making the quest impossible to complete.

Fix: Reloading a save from before picking up the skull.


From the Wiki page. Only other option would be to get the quest code + objective numbers and finish it with the console.

You have to return the skull to the person who appears when you get the skull. Arvak himself doesn't appear at that point. He just leads you to the skull and you learn how to summon him after returning the skull to the soul. Go back to the Soul Cairn and return the skull should allow you to summon him.

Well, where is he?

As for using the console, how do you do that with quests? I know how to use it for adding things to the inventory, but I've never used it for quests before.

He should have appeared when you picked up the skull. If he didn't, you will need to load a save from before you got the skull to pick it up again. Otherwise, your only option is to console the quest complete. Not sure if you can get the summon if you do that though. I'd check back wherever you found the skull and look for him. Is there a quest marker anywhere for that quest?

Found him. I thought he was going to be in his original position. Thanks.
