Firewood in Markarth

Is there anywhere in Markarth to get firewood? I've done some google searching and already know there's no place to cut my own, but are there any merchants that sell it? I need to make arrows. I'm going to travel elsewhere to get the wood right now, but this would be good to know for future reference. Also, seems really stupid that there's no chopping blocks in all of Markarth. They're importing all of their firewood?

Its a dwemer city, but are you running frostfall or something?

There are none there. I craft everything, not allowed to use anything found, so it can be a chore depending on what alternate start I use. There are some mods that rebalance level lists that include firewood and other things in various containers though, so not as big an issue with that. Otherwise, Markarth the city has nothing. You'll need to head to one of the settlements or one of the Forsworn camps to find an actual chopping block.

There was a chopping block not far from Markarth, across the road from a farm. There were some Kajiit merchants there, maybe it was theirs and I was lucky that they were there when I was.

It's theirs. Only thing left when they leave is the firepit.

I know of two reliable sources, though they are a walk. As you noted, the Khajiit caravan puts a temporary chopping block out. If you continue east along the road from there Old Hroldan has a chopping block out front.
