Perk Points per level mod --how do I access the in-game menu that the mod description references?
Got the mod, but have no idea how to use it. The author's description says that there is an in-game menu, but does not provide any details about how to acess that menu.

Anyone know how to use this mod?

Is it the "mod configuration" tab in the pause menu, on the same page with options and such

No. I just get the regular paused-game options. I don't get a mod configuraton option.

I had another perk point mod, but it worked once and then never worked again. Frustrating.

Do you have a link for the mod?

No, I wouldn't know how to link it here, but it's the one available through Steam for SE. I accessed it through the Mod option in my game's main menu. The mod is actually called Perk Points Per level.

That's not through Steam, that's through Bethesda.net which you should not use.

There is also this, which I have been using for quite awhile without issue.

If there's an in-game menu, it's most likely through either a Book being read, or a Power activated with Z (like a shout) in the Magic menu. Powers are the 2nd to last tab on the Magic menu.

I don't think Bethesda.net mods can use an MCM like Nexus (and other) mods because SkyUI doesn't function the same if it's even available. That sort of scripting is not allowed on there. I could be wrong though, but SkyUI needs SKSE, and I'm pretty sure any SKSE dependent mods aren't allowed on the Bethesda site.

Perk Point Per Level requires you to access the console, which can be done with the "~" key while in-game.

Thanks so much for all the responses. I did finally find another mod that works really well, and have managed to turn all 40 of my dragon souls into useful perks.

What is the reason I should not use Bethesda.net? The mods I have from there have for the most part been excellent and my game has no issues with them.

I have Nexus but it becomes a pain if I've uninstalled large game and forgot to uninstall the mods beforehand; the mod manager will not open in that case and I have to re-download and install the missing game, which is a time-consuming process.

Bethesda.net may have some good mods, and if they work for you, OK. The reason a lot of people prefer Nexus is that there are a lot more, and greater variety there. And, at least in my experience, there is more info on the mod pages regarding compatibly.

Another major reason not to use the Bethesda modpage is the lack of support for compatibility-patches--the sheer number of high-profile mods which don't have their full scope of compatibility patches listed, that otherwise would on the Nexus, and how prohibitive and awkward it is to track down the ones that ARE on there.

Also, Nexus Mod Manager has been largely replaced by a manager called Vortex--while it does have a weird UI and organizational structure, icfraser may find it better suited to their needs as it relates to configuring/reconfiguring games in general. Iirc it's not perfect though, and to fully reconfigure a game's mod window they might have to go into Vortex file directory and manually tear sh** apart. It's definitely an improvement over NMM overall, above all else.
