No combat sound [Fixed]
Whenever I draw my weapon it does not make any sound, same if I sway around with it or shoot arrows with my bow. Also no footsteps. Is there any fix for this?

Do you have your volume turned down?

I had same problems. For combat sound problem, you can downlode a mod from
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/5289/?tab=description , it's a Skyrim mod, but it works for Skyrim SE as well. You need to downlode it manually, and add it through nmm.
For footstep problem, if you downloded unoffical patch,

Try this: go to the "Data" folder in your install and look for the file "Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.ini". Open the file and remove the line "uMaxSizeForCachedSound=4096" in the [Audio] section. I had the same problem, with the addition that I also had no weapon sounds. The authors of the mod were, ahem, not helpful in finding a solution, but I managed to figure it out with trial and error. Don't know why it worked, the authors swore up and down that it should have no effect, but it worked for me.

Putting the game on my main drive fixed it for me

I already have deleted the data file in the audio section, and my game is on my local drive. I tried to download the mod for improved combat sound but that caused my skyui to not work. any help?

Put the game on your C drive.

Thanks, but it was already on my C drive, but I am on a macbook running windows, so for anyone else that sees this, for it to work on mac you have to get an external hard drive and have the game and all mods installed on that and it will work. I reinstalled all mods onto the external hard drive and i didnt have to mess with any files, they just worked how they were supposed to.
I'm missing all those sounds too. I did what you said but those mods didn't work. But I do have footsteps when I walk up or down stairs.

Although being labelled as fixed, I'd like to add a non-modding-solution to the problem (I had on my MacBook Pro 2020 in Bootcamp) I found during my research and verified:

The problem:
The root problem is an obscure "bug" in Skyrim (SE) that expects the volume you install the game (sound) data on to be MBR. Your Bootcamp, however, is GUID formatted.

The solution
can be found here [forums.nexusmods.com]. In short:
1. you have to create a virtual volume in Windows (for vanilla 20GB is enough)
2. you can then use Steam built in transfer tool to move the game to the virtual volume (you don't have to move the whole Steam installation to the virtual volume)

Why does moving the game to the C drive "fix" the missing audio?

Your main drive, the drive your operating system is installed on which is usually named the "C" drive.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
