how to level up conjuration effectively?
hello

i think the leveling mechanics for conjuration school need some tweaking. all other schools of magic, for example destruction, every time you cast a destruction spell, whether or not it hits the enemy, it will increase your destruction experience. also the fact that many destruction skills have high DPS also help player to earn experience quickly. the prime example would be low level destruction skills such as Flame, which is continuous, thus the player is constantly earning destruction exp when cast flame skill, which is why school of destruction is so easy to level up in the early game to mid game.

however, when i look at the conjuration school, it appears that the player only earns a certain amount of exp when a actual skill is cast. but since the conjuration is all about summoning something, your summoned creature is likely to stay alive for awhile, which means a player with conjuration skill won't be casting skill constantly. and thus, the amount of exp can be earned is greatly decreased compare to destruction.

i think if there is a mod that allow player to gain conjuration experience every time when the summoned creature hit an enemy, that will help greatly to fix the problem. otherwise, conjuration always take forever to level up compare to other magic schools.

again, if there is a mod on nexus that already address this problem, please let me know. thanks.

soul trap dead bodies it says the spell fails but you get xp for every cast and the failure means you dont have to wait for the timer to run out. unless they patched it.

this trick doesn't work anymore after the unofficial skyrim patch, they took it away, along with many other exploits, such as the fortify health loop.

How about you simply ... PLAY THE GAME?

I mean seriously, there is zero need to worry about power leveling any skill in Skyrim and if you cared to use Conjuration than you'd already be leveling it naturally.

However, with that said, fight with a bound weapon, you'll level both Conjuration and said weapon skill.

Spam Soul Trap on a Torture Victim in the tourture chamber after you finish the DB questline.

I remember one time I recast Conjure Storm Atronach a second time while it was still fighting because I was in a huge battle with a dragon and felt it was about to expire. So as soon as I recast I leveled up my conjuration. So maybe you don't have to wait.

As far as I can tell from my own playing, Conjuration works upward when your conjured critter damages an enemy or is at least present while you are in combat. This is kind of a way to keep you from spamming "Summon Familiar" or something similar (think Bound Dagger in Oblivion). But you can find a high perch outside of Whiterun with a few nearby mudcrabs and spam Bound Sword. As long as you're in combat, it counts. Tinkering with the experience multipliers in an uncapper's ini file is another option, but if you're thinking of doing to do that, the console is faster and easier.

This.

There's no reason to spam the skill and try to "level it up" - just use it as normal. Summon Familiar is the first spell you can get, and it's cheap and easy. You should conjure it every single fight so it has a chance to do damage and improve your skill. Get Raise Zombie as well. When you're in drauger ruins, raise zombies all the time. As soon as you kill a group of them, raise one up and move further into the dungeon.

While you're adventuring, work up your Smithing and Enchanting and Alchemy. Use all of this to make yourself some powerful gear with reduced Conjuration costs on it, so you can cast the really expensive Conjuration skills for very little majicka.

Destruction levels up on the DAMAGE it does to the enemy, so it has to hit to level up. If it hits the enemy and does no damage, then you get no experience for it.

Conjuration is fairly easily to level up, find a mudcrab, get somewhere it can't attack you, and start casting a bound weapon spell, sheathe it and repeat. Boring but easy to level up.
Yeah, find a mudcrap and get into an inaccessible spot preferably, then just keep casting bound dagger. While you are at it let it hit you to keep on leveling up armor skills and hurt it and heal it to level up healing.
