Can Someone Help Me Find Illia?
My favorite follower has been lost on me and I really miss her. She had a nice backstory of redemption, she was a powerful sorcerer, and she looked really cool when I dressed her up in some nice mage gear. She's been lost ever since I decided to start that stupid questline with the Companions and they forced themselves on me as followers when I went on their quests. After that Illia headed off, as she should have, but the problem is I can't find her anywhere around Darklight Tower now and it's been days.

Is there anywhere she could have gotten stuck? I find it hard to believe she was killed by a random bear or bandit, but I guess some leveled thief could have killed her if that's how the game works, I assume they'd be too much for most followers to handle after the point I got that Harmony spell and shoot myself up over the one hundred level mark. Is Illia really just gone or she just stuck in some corner of woods unable to get to her home?

Open the console:

prid 0004B22E <enter>

moveto player <enter>

Close the console. If she's alive she will be on top of you.

What if I'm on the Switch and can't use console commands? Is there any other way to reunite with a lost follower?

Then you load an older save. If you don't have an older save, then you've now learned the lesson to keep older saves in lengthy (buggy) games like Skyrim.

I vaguely recall this happening to my brother back on the 360. She should show up back at the tower after a few ages.
However, it doesn't matter anyway: In vanilla Skyrim, Illia has a bug[en.uesp.net] that makes it impossible to recruit her again after she is dismissed, and I have no reason to believe this is fixed on the Switch version.

if she's not in the tower or near the top (where you fight her mom) look outside the tower or as someone said before "go north towards Windhelm using the pathway there"
