Vortex, Rules, and Wrye Bash
I decided to give Vortex a whirl. After transferring my modlist, LOOT, figuring out rules, and making a Bash Patch, I'm left with a few queries. How do rules work? Do they behave with the same logic like load order conflicts where the later wins? Should I be concerned that none of my plugins disabled that I guess should like in NMM during the Bash Patch process in Vortex?

Yes, Vortex is great at managing conflicts. And yes, the last mod wins and when you set a rule you set the conflicting file(s) to load before or after.

here is a direct link to the Nexus Forums concerning Wrye Bash and getting your questions answered as well, directly from the creator of Vortex and/or his team

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7494196-running-wrye-bash-through-vortex/

****I would ALSO go to the Knowledge Base inside of your Vortex and reading "About Load Orders".

OH Sh*t, just now saw this is an old thread. grrrrrrrrr

time for me to go back to whatever I was doing as my mind is obviously not HERE lol.

@Vlad 254, I gave an UP in an old thread (my bad) but the struggle is actual. LOL
I'm installing Vortex and Wrye Bash today and found this. However, thank you for answer ;)

NP although yeah, it's better to start a new thread next time.

So that link I provided talks specifically about Vortex & Wrye Bash.

Also, you'll find Vortex much much better at everything related to conflicts than NMM.

NMM was a great mod manager in it's day and for that reason many still use it. But as most know by now Vortex is the official replacement for NMM.

good luck and happy gaming.

Vortex is a disk hog. It keeps your compressed files and the extracted fires on disk, and adds lots of garbage like directory entries stating it's managed by Vortex and lots of backup files. They're in the same directory so duh...

Whatever install Wrye Bash can't handle I do manually by reading the config xml file.
Not dissing Vortex fan boys, but after it crashed from a file access prob after a Win update putting it back together was too much work.
