What are the best places to farm soul gems souls?
http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Soul_Gem_(Skyrim)

I know what creature fills what. But where can I find more petty, more lesser, common, greater and grand specifically?
Without giving chance for the random opportunity?

For greater and grand it's 100% finding chance at any giant camp.
For petty general speaking the forest seems to be the best place.

What about the rest?

Petty-common you can easily pick up from draugr dungeons. Greater too, sometimes.

Go to the Soul Cairn. Plenty of souls there.

Helmeted Archer Deathlords (lvl 40) and Death Overlords (lvl 45) yield grand souls.

Do the Azura shrine quest if your doing this for enchanting grinding.

That soul gem never gets used up and can contain the strongest souls.

I don't like to use cheats.

Currently playing as a mage, as soon as I finish winterhold quests I'll do Azura.
Was just wondering because if I wanted to create another character non magic related, focusing on playing the game and not game the game, knowing the most efficient places to farm would be userful.

Black souls gem, kill bandit or any humans, profit.

You should use a mod Aquisition soul gem if you dont want your grand souls gem filled with a skeever soul

Every creatures have its own souls capabilities, its not random chance

I find alot of both filled and empty soul gems when doing dwemer ruins, when you kill those robot they usually have soul gems on their corpse.
Sinsling Feb 27, 2018 @ 8:28am
There is also rushing the soul cairn, but that requires doing some dawnguard stuff...

Meant random in the sense of finding the correct creature type for each soul gem.

This mod is great, thanks!

Yup, also that cave from starting as a necromancer from Alternative Start mod.
I had like 50 soul gems, but they're kinda gone now.

OMG...

Acquisitive soulgem ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ made my azura star disapear!

Was using that Acquisitive soulgem in SSE. I was inside the labirithian dungeon almost finishing it, I just realized that my star was gone, then after WTF moment, I reloaded my save at the beginning of the magnus staff quest. (luckly I had one, because I never save.). You know those anomaly orbs that attack the college? Yeah, they'll make the black star disapear after killing one of them!

How do I know it's this mod problem? Simply.
1 - I don't have any other mod that change how soulgems works nor change the monster soulgem rank fill.
2 - After disabling this mod, my azura stack did not disapear after killing that anomaly orb with soul trap casted.

I suppose the only reason this nasty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bug wasn't been reported yet is because it doesn't seem to occur in humans NPCS (I did coc riverwood and killed a few npcs to test, didn't glitched) and it does require a very specific scenario, such as casting soul trap on the anomaly orbs, and obviously having the daedric star at this point in the game, meaning it's very unlikely to happen.

After spotting this ♥♥♥♥, I'm not very confident about this mod anymore, I mean, it could simply make my star disapear later again as well. I don't know if it's safe to remove this crap or not.

When I'll learn that the vast majority overwhelming of mods are problematic as heck? I'm done with new mods.

Azura stack ? You have more than 1 ?

are you sure that its not that mod bug.

Now Im even more confused, black azura star can only capture human souls, normal azura star can capture anything that is not human souls.

In vanilla the corrupted azura star, aka the black star can capture any soul.
This mod has an option to set it to capture black souls only.

I've disabled this mod, soul trapped the magic anomaly and killed it, my star wasn't gone.
With this mod, after killing one magic anomaly my star will disappear. It's a bug from this mod.

Alright I did some more testings.

With this mod DISABLED, my star will remain no matter what.
With this mod ENABLED, I've the following outcome:

1 - Closed the game and loaded a save prior to the Magic Anomaly attack in college. My Star remained.
2 - Reloaded the same save and killed the Magic Anomaly, without closing the game. My Star disappear.
3 - Closed and open the game then used the console command player.placeatme 000b6f94. My star remained.
4 - Reloaded the same save and typed the same console command. My star remained.

I'm a little confuse with the results, but it seems this mod is stabled and the error that occuried is extremely rare. So I wouldn't be worried to play with this mod at first glance. Still need to play more.
