Which version? please help M2000M
Hi all, I've searched the net and cant seem to find the answer. My setup is a i7-6820HQ, Quadro M2000M (4GB DDR5), 16GB Ram, Win 7 Pro-64 and a SSD. I have no hope of being able to upgrade my GPU for a number of years.

>The big sticking point for me over which version to buy is this:
>Game-debate says my GPU has 108% of the Minimum specs for Skyrim SE (Low to >Medium at 1080p according to Game-debate), but 132-169% of Recommended
>specs for Skyrim (Oldrim) (high at 1080p according to G-D)

(The 132-169% depends on whether I consider my M2000M to be a GTX 950M or a GTX 960M, since game-debate doesnt list the Quadro M2000M. Also, I dont understand game-debate's % system very well, because some GPU's can be 200% worse than another etc.)

>I prefer 1080p over 720p, and have a 1080p monitor. It seems that I'd have to run Skyrim
>SE on 720p for medium to high graphics (because at 1080p, I'd only get low to medium >quality, while I can run Oldrim on 1080p in High/Ultra.

>I'd like to use several visual mods (possibly primarily character mods), and I've heard there are some mods to reduce the amount of GPU that Skyrim SE uses. What are some
examples?

>Is that extra 8% good enough to run a bunch of mods without frying my laptop? Or should I purchase Oldrim (with the extra 30-70% gpu guts above minumum) and mod it?

Looking at comparison picstures of Oldrim vs SE, I don't like the looks of the godrays. Also, in many cases (but not all) I find myself prefering the looks of Oldrim to SE.

On the other hand SE is 64bit system (fewer ram-based CTDs?), and on sale is the same price as Oldrim-without-Mods. Also, with skse transitioning to 64 bit, there are now a bunch of mods for 64 bit, and I've heard that Oldrim mods are dieing out, leading me to wonder if anyone will be playing/modding Oldrim in 5+ years.

>>Which version would you all recommend?

>>If you say Oldrim, should I get a Legendary Key from Humblebundle in order to get all of the DLC cheaper than steam sells them for? Would a Legendary key even work on Steam today since the Legendary Steam store page is down?

These are a few of the questions that have been plaguing my mind lately, and I would appreciate any and all advice.

In advance I would like to thank you all very much!

It should be able to run Skyrim SE, just make sure you take it easy...play on Medium at 1280x720 on high...and use TAA for the launcher menu Antialiasing setting. Given you only have 2GB VRAM, visual/graphics mods are out of the question for both old Skyrim and Skyrim SE.

This gpu has more that enough bite, it is basicly equal to a 960 which runs SE perfect on ultra. I have a 960 with no issues.
As for modding I wouldn't know. But the move to 64 bit is more than worth it hands down.
Your gpu has 4gb of vram which I would think would mod nicely.

@the Spoopy Kitteh thanks for the response and advice. :) I do actually have 4gb of vram, tho, and i'd prefer 1080, but 720 isnt a dealbreaker

@DPMR, thanks for the response & advice. :) I actaully have a laptop GPU, Quadro M2000M (which some say is the equivalent of the gtx 960 Mobile card) which is not quite as good as a GTX 750 Ti
