Skyrim SKSE Can't find skyrimse.exe
I started using SKSE and whenever I click on it from my desktop it says "Can't find skyrimse.exe"
Whenever I launch it from the directory folder, it launches fine.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :D

You need to use SKSE64[skse.silverlock.org] for Skyrim Special Edition.

Note he said it can't find skyrimse, implying he is using skse64 as skse does not search for sse.

Your desktop icon is a shortcut to the skse64 located in the correct directory right? Not accidently pointing to the skse64.exe in your extracted folder?

The desktop shortcut is skse_loader.

SKSE64 is on the silverlocke page as version 2.0.6

Did you rename this shortcut? If not, spoopy is correct and you are not using skse64.

I'm using skse64, and I didn't rename anything.

The skse64 exe is named skse64_launcher by default. Can you link us to whatever guide you used for installing skse64?

I know it is named as such because you have to rename the launcher to get NMM to detect it, as NMM is not made to use skse64 yet.

What do I need to rename it to?

Renaming won't help. It would help if you knew why the desktop shortcut doesn't have the original file name.

A fast fix would be to delete the desktop shortcut, right click the skse64_launcher.exe in the SSE folder, and select create shortcut. Try moving the new shortcut to the desktop, and see if it works.

I'm having the same problem. Is it possible to play Skyrim without SKSE until one figures something out?
