Alternate Start + Arcane Arrows from the cration club = god help me...
So I started with the thieves guild and one of the 2 bandit like named NPC's has fire exploding arrows that oneshot me, he has more than 1 too since I tried baiting him into wasting it but no can do...
Any suggestions? Console - Kill wont work on him.
Also kinda regret spending money on this since what would make the AoE part of an ARROW deal 100 dmg in an instant? Like seriously... they even let you get achievements with CC since the CC mods are "tested for balance". Now I understand the outrage...

You mean Drahff and Hewnon Black-Skeever? Well, if You go with Thieves Guild, then I guess You are intending to play a sneaky character. You can... You know, sneak attack them. Even with low level, when dual wielding swords or maces and using power attack, You should be able to one-shot about anyone.

Alternatively, You can run to exit, and return only with some nice tools, like invisibility potion or "explosives" of Your own.

I ended up doing this, but I have to say the arcane archer pack is broken beyond all reason with 0 perks in archery.

Problem was, you can't quite sneak past them due to their positioning. Even if you get one, the archer with the one-shot arrows (Drahff) is either down the hallways or is shooting while you fight the other guy.

I don't know what they thought while making this mod for CC, I remember there was a similar pack (the same really...) for Oldrim on the nexus and that was way better balanced.
Also half of the survival mode content is trivialized by cheap 280+ hunger food. Regreting this a bit.

You should have just used a follower or two and conjured some minions. Your game should be modded to a difficulty that requires that in many cases anyway.

@David

Well, You know... The whole game is balanced for vanilla experience, CC likewise. You are not *expected* to start in the Ratway. I am currently playing Survival Mode with Arcane Arrows on Legendary + some other CC / Nexus mods, and I have not encountered any balance issues yet. Please note that I am not using Live Another Life, and that I started in Helgen (vanilla start).

Solutions to consider:

1. You can use some of the CC spells or items of Your own. I am using Nexus mods that prevent bonus items from spawning on the player (like https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12769?tab=files), but as far as I can tell, elemental arrows are usually gifted to You at the start. Perhaps this was intended as balancing factor.

2. If You are OK with using console for Your gameplay there are *numerous* methods to overcome the issue. You can additem potions (like invisibility one -> then just sneak through the entrance; fire resistance -> then do not worry about fire/explosive damage; etc.). You can moveto some other location/NPC in Riften, and return to Ratway only when You are ready to meet those two bosses head-on. You can spawn CC items if Alternate Start prevents You from having them from the start; etc.

3. You can try to find a valid solution in-game, like sneaking, baiting, provoking other NPCs to fight for You, using spells in innovative way, etc. Actually, what I like in Survival Mode the most is how it requires me to find new ways to do things. Like when I wanted to swim in freezing water once, but I still had no flame cloak spell -> it occurred that I can employ Become Ethereal Shout to overcome the effect, and thus dive for a short while.

Well, this is interesting! I never thought about the NPCs using those power arrows against the hero. I don't have the Arcane Archery Pack myself, but I was tempted to try it.

Were you using those arrows too? I've heard that NPCs will sometimes be able to keep an arrow you shoot at them and infinitely use it back against you.

Yeah, this pack is supremely unbalanced; on launch it had an arrow type that instakilled any humanoid enemy, not sure if that's still a thing though.

Cutting Room Floor adds dialogue options to get past those two without fighting, which I normally use.

I was not using them since I didn't start out with a bow, although I'm much further into the game now so its not an issue.

I cleared groups of 4 mercenaires at goldenglow with 1 fire arrow each. Kinda broken.

Wait what... I seriously hope You are not suggesting pirating CC content, right?

Becaue, You know, excluding some rare promotions, currently the only valid way of getting CC is by paying for it. ;-)

He is suggesting the current mods on CC are not worth paying money for, which most people agree. I wouldn't take them for free either. At least out of the current crap selection.
