Mod limit?
How do I know if I have reached the limit of mods allowed. I have 285 plugins now but not sure how many of them count towards reaching the max. I still have more mods I want to add, but dont want to accidently hit the limit.

As of now game runs great with no issues.

aim for less esp plugins and more more esl plugins esl plugins are tracked differently
the maximum is 255 however that including the base game esms also esls don't count towards that number and you also light esps those also don't count towards that number

There is no real "Mod" limit. There are plugin limits. 255 for esm/esp's. Between 300-900 esl plugins if they are full of new records (although the theoretical limit is 4096), testing is still under way on that. And that is only for new records, for overwrites its almost unlimited. There is also the ref handle limit of 2^20. So there are plenty of limits, some have workarounds, some don't. Both Vortex and MO2 have a way to tell you what type of plugin you are looking at, and there is a script for xEdit that will tell you where you are at for ref handles.
