Because using console can break your game.... There are mods that make them essential.

it seems to have something to do with the hair replacer mod i have though.

I also didnt even use the resurrect command, i used a mod that added a resurrect spell to the game, both thing have caused the same outcome of the NPC being invisible

Just because you are using a mod to run the console command doesn't mean you aren't breaking your game.

In Skyrim, dead characters have "death scripts", and said death scripts can not be undone so any form of resurrection causes the game to think a character is dead and alive at the same time, which is a very, very, very bad thing.

So yeah, reload from before Lydia died, and make her essential instead.

First, make up your mind, did you use the command or not.
Second, you will probably find the mod uses the command in that spell, so even if you did use a mod it's still going to break your game.

This isn't true

You can resurrect dead NPCs but you will most likely run into issues.

this isn't a "very, very bad thing" and is fixable

If the character you resurrected was dead, then using the command does not undo death scripts that have already been ran. Game AI gets confused and in 99% of cases you will just have a no-good character wandering around. In worse cases, death scritps will have run other scripts and suddenly "alive" character starts to cause conflicts in the game.
If the character you "resurrected" is alive (and in this case a quest character), then scripts affecting to this character now has double targets, messing up the game AI royally.

^You're right, that's not an issue at all.. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Its not unless its quest givers in specific instances. Followers and Merchants and nearly 99% of the rest including questgivers in most cases will be just fine. :nonplussed_creep:

OP. Uninstall your follower mod. disable follower. Enable follower using ID. moveto player. reinstall mod.

This is inaccurate as lots of MODS use and rely on the console.

This ^
First of all not have the NPCs have death scripts tied to them, the NPCs that do tend to be merchants that have to be replaced.
And as Metadragon said, this can easily be fixed, the developer console is not for casual users in the first place.

People constantly say you can resurrect unimportant NPCs, they also constantly say a few weeks later "my game is wrecked, no idea why, how do I fix this?".....

Don't use the resurrect command or mods that resurrect NPCs unless you are aware that you will almost certainly wreck your game.
Is this a case of what is dead may never die?

People die, let them die, or reload a older save.

Death should have consequence and it might add to immersion if you lose people along the way, personally I absolutely despise followers.
