why do my followers get naked when l dismiss them?

l use AFT and use the gear function to remove their normal armour and replace it with new armour (normaly mod added) and they keep it on most of the time but when l send them back home they get naked when l come back,and l have to manualy tell them to get dressed. ls there a way to stop this? (am l right ln thinking setting a home armour for them would fix this?)

I assume you have Amazing Follower Tweaks, or another follower overhaul mod installed. You have to set up their gear for different places (Normal, Cities, Home). If it's Amazing Follower Tweaks, you will have a book in your inventory called AFT Read Me or something. In there it will say about Gear.

I usually come home to find dismissed followers naked, but only for a moment, and then they're back in whatever armor I gave them. I don't know too much about how AFT is set up, but I think it uses scripts to reassign a default outfit, whenever you enable gear management. That way, they stay in what you gave them, even if you dismiss them, but it seems like the script has to reassign it, whenever you come near them.

I've tried a few different things, including enabling home outfits, and I've never found a way around it.

They are probably set to use the armour they start with, and they are probably caught halfway changing back.... Not sure how to fix it though.

They do this without mods. They default to their normal gear. Just take away or give them something and they re-equip the gear. It is annoying but meh.
