Bug: Bilgemuck/thirsk

I was looking forward to becoming chief of Thirk, because who doesn't want a group of badass little gruntlings showing up randomly to help you.

Problem is that it won't let me give Bilgemuch any meat. The menu pops up to trade inventories and sort of freezes. I've looked online and this may be a problem with SkyUI.

Has anyone encountered this and found a fix? I may resort to using the console.

I know, it is already old, but since I also had the bug and did not find a direct answer anywhere, I wanted to post this workaround for anyone who also will have this issue in future and googled for it without answers. Just set the stage of the quest to next stage: "setstage DLC2MH02 15"
