Actually the Creation club has a bundle full of new spells which one of them happens to be a alteration spell where you can open any expert lock.
I still had my 100 free coins so I basicly got it for free.
My quest for Glory Character would beg to differ. QFG1: Ran as a thief, QFG: Imported as a Mage (kept Thief Skills), QFG3: Imported as a Warrior/ended as Paladin (Now I had every skillset). 4 and 5 imported as paladin. It was the natural evolution of the Character I thought.
My point being. Right tool for the right job. Don't get hung up on lables. And a lockpick never runs out of Mana....though you can run out of lockpicks....I don't know.

Then don't, problem solved. I often don't use Lockpicking at all when I'm playing pure warriors, mages, or paladin/cleric/spellsword types. You don't need to pick a single lock in the game AFAIK.
