Serana not following !
What coammnds can I use in console to enable Serana to follow me or at least appear next to me in Harkens castle.
I'm at the room with the portal, but she is stuck back a few rooms & halls away from me in semi combat mode..
No amount of shield bashing or shouting does anything to get her out of this stance.

I"ve looked online but can't get the right context for this command to work....

I'm playing fresh install of Vanilla game with NO mods. All game files have already been verified by steam.

This bug keeps reappearing once Serana is adopted as a follower for Dawnguard's major questline.

Thanks in advance.

You can try to get Serana unstuck by going to her, opening up the console, select her by clicking on her (EDIT: best done in 1st person. 3rd person selection can be wonky and sometimes tends to just select the player) and typing in the following command:

resetAI

If that doesn't help, you can move Serana to you with the following console commands:

prid xx002B74
moveto player

the hexadecimal number after prid is Serana's reference ID, where xx is the load order number of the Dawnguard DLC. If you don't know what it is, you can go to Serana, open up the console and click on her, or you can look it up in your plugin list.

You can also try to fix Serana by telling her to go home, then staying away from her for enough in-game days for her cell to reset (30 in-game days should do it). That should clean up script related to her, so you can then go back and pick her up again.

Thanks Trehek,
I'll give those options a go & see what happens.
I had the console id for her already, but didn't type it on different lines like you have listed.

Cheers.

I just tried those suggestions but after opening console & clicking on Serana, her id is different to the one you posted above.
I have a screenshot of it, but can't see anyway on here to show it in this post.

Serana's reference ID is 02002B74.

As to posting screenshots, there is this from pinned topic, The Unofficial Screenshot Thread:

"How do you post a screenshot?
- Go to your screenshot Library.
- Right click on the screenshot you want to view.
- Select: ''copy link address''
- Then right click on the comment box here and select ''paste''.
- Or to post multiple shots, paste the link addresses into Notepad the copy and paste them all here."

Thanks I got that.
Fixed the problem with Serana. I just typed "resetAI" & all is working fine for now.
On another note I do notice my FPS in the soul cain taking a hit with performance. But that's another issue.

That hit on FPS the Soul Cairn is very common - it's just the way it is. There are several other areas in the game that also produce dips in FPS, as well.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Have system drivers updated weekly so know it's not from my end. Unless I get better hardware.

Clicking someone with the console open normally returns the target's base ID which is a number code common to all instances of that target. It's used for spawning new copies of the target and many other things. The reference ID is a number unique to that specific instance of the target object. Unique actors always have a single instance in the world (unless console commands are used to add more) so the ref ID is predetermined and listed in the wiki.

The xx part of the baseID and refID (i.e. the esp plugin that the target is contained in) are always the same, so I was simply suggesting that you can look up those two first numbers by clicking on Serana and looking at her displayed baseID. For most people, Dawnguard's load order number is 02, but I tried not to assume that's true in your case.

Anyway, glad to hear you fixed your Serana!

Thanks Trehek, that's interesting to know for future ref. Cheers.
