can't finish blood on the ice

i appear to have broken the quest "blood on the ice" in windhelm. i'm stuck at "examine the crime scene" and "get assistance from jorleif" can somebody type out the console command to skip that part of the quest for me? i'm not sure what to type.

check the bugs section, but I believe that was fixed in the unofficial patch.

Yeah, the unofficial patch sorted out a lot of issues with that quest. Also if I remember when it asked you to examine the crime scene, I'm sure I had to follow the blood trail to the house, and when getting to the house it updated the next stage of the quest and I could talk to Jorlief. I might be wrong on that, but if you haven't tried that have a go and see if it progresses the quest.

alas i'm using the unofficial patch.. though i DIDN'T follow the blood trail. that could be the problem. thanks guys.

You need to finish gathering clues in Hjerim.

Take the leaflets in the chest.
