Installing mods to the data folder of Skyrim SE
Ive tried downloading mods manually into the game data because im having too many problems with the mod managers so i downloaded ambriel, skysight, and an armor mod. When i load up the game only the armor mod shows up in the mod section. Note: the armor mod had .esp in its name while the others didnt, if there is a fix to this please help.

If I understand what you've said, this "mod section" is merely reading your load order, or perhaps more accurately your active plugins (.esps, .esms, .esls), a texture/mesh mod wouldn't show up there. So I believe it is doing what it's meant to.

Mind you I don't manually install, nor do I know which mod section you're referring to, so that is a guess.

the mod section is from the mod option in the game its self. so skysight and ambriel are already in the game?

For the other file do you have 7 zip or any other application that could extract the file ? Sometimes well 100% of the time moders add a archive file and you have to unarchive it first before throwing it in the data folder. In it should have esp file in it or something of that name

Here's a tutorial this helped me a lot it explains where each one drops into but all mods go in the data folder also if a mod comes with a folder called a mesh file throw it in the data folder aswell it's necessary for the mod to work

Did you downlaod the right version? Some come with a description like this file is used for this mod manager or this file is for manual download? On the nexus there should be multiple version depending on which mod your installing. And hi aging

ok ambriel is a follower mod, she has a data folder after i unzip it, but once I put the mod in skyrims data folder she doesnt show up in game load order. Do i have to look through the data folder for the esp. esm. or bsa. file? Is she implemented in my game?

I'd strongly advise using Mod Organizer, but if you're insistent on installing manually, you just drop the contents of the mod's data folder onto the game's data folder and let windows merge all the folders and whatnot. When it comes to overwriting things, though, you'd better be damn sure you install your mods in the proper order if one overwrites the files of another.

? Did you put the data folder in the data folder? or did you open up the data folder and then put the files in the data folder. Also I'm not trying to sound mean but I'd advise you to go to the mod page and click on I think it's overview it should provide you with the installation instructions for manually but you should just be able to open the archive up and don't quote me but I think you open the folder up and all those different files you through them in the data folder each different file depends on each other so if you just put on in the data folder and it came with multiple you will have issues

So you have a ...\data\data\...?
Don't do that. Put the contents of the mod's data folder inside of the game's data folder.

Loot won't save overwritten files, it only adjusts the load order for the esps.
