Legacy of the Dragonborn - Shattered Legacy HELP

So I've had Shattered Legacy for a while, and when Byron ran to me to give me the gem, I was doing something else and didn't loot his body.

I'm now trying to complete the quest but it appears it is broken. The quest says I need to search his body, but his body has despawned. I can teleport him to me, but he's naked and doesn't have the letter to progress the quest. Setting the quest stage via console also doesn't work, as I need to read the letter, but I can't find the letter ID anywhere online.

Anyone else had this issue? Or is this the end of my LOTD playthrough?

In situations like this, the solution is usually to go back to an earlier save (in this case, one where the body is still there, so you can loot it). However, if you have not already done so,you might want to check LODB page to see if there is another solution, or just ask there to see if another solution is possible.

But reloading an older save is probably the best solution.
