The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

Statistiche:
Wet Function Redux Mod
I'm running a fairly heavily modded Skyrim SE. I look for mods that make the character's life more realistic. I have a mod that shows my character sleeping in a bed, instead of showing a blank screen with a timer on it and she's in exactly the same position when you wake up, standing by the bed. I have a bathing mod that means you have to wash since you'll get increasingly dirty as time goes by. Again, more realistic.

Recently I discovered Wet Function Redux. This mod creates a wet skin effect, with actual water or sweat droplets when it's raining, or when you are swimming. I always hated that it could be pouring rain, or your character had been swimming in water....yet came out with a dry skin texture. And my character now sweats from sprinting. It took a bit of tweaking to get it to trigger, but the effect is really immersive. Looks really cool.

Just thought I would share that, if anyone is interested.

Are you familiar with Wet and Cold?

Yes, but there was too much other crap that I didn't want. All I wanted was for my character to react to water, rain and sweaty conditions. With Wet and Cold all the other stuff like NPCs running indoors when it started raining and all the other more complex things I really couldn't be bothered with. I like realism.....but to me that's overkill.
that running indoor is configurable by mcm menu

Oh, I realize that. Believe me, I looked into it, and read up on what it did do. I suppose I could have maybe got what I wanted from it, but I had read that a lot of people had trouble with it crashing their games, and mod conflicts etc. This one (Wet Function Redux) reportedly caused crashes - but only if you used the Auto-Apply, which targets NPCs as well as your character. I didn't want that anyway, so I left that option alone in MCM. So far, no crashes.

I wonder if I have enough script allowance to add something like this.

Despite people regarding Wet and Cold as causing CTDs, in actuality, it is not a cause of them, but usually something else in the mod load. Wet and Cold should cause no problems and its script footprint is very light - you should not have problems with it.

One final note: if you have a weather overhaul mod installed, Wet and Cold should be placed before it in the load order, else it will overwrite some weather records and return them to vanilla - LOOT gets this wrong (and since mod managers rely on LOOT, they'll get it wrong, as well).

I will say that the "Wet and Cold CTD" I've seen reported most recently (which was still a while ago) always involed Wet and Cold used alongside CC Survival Mode.

(Well, mostly they describe "random freezing", but all those posts were also well before the 2.2.2 update that fixed a mesh-related CTD according to the bug reports page. The two issues were probably conflated by mistake.)
Anything CC related is really not recommended - far to many problems are likely possible when run alongside non CC mods - which really make up the bulk of most mod loads. Any one wanting survival mode should instead be using Frostfall, Campfire, and some sort of needs mod.

Basically, though I do not like to refer to personal experiences as regards mods, still, if I can run Wet and Cold with no problem in my 1100+ plugin, 1500+ total mod build with absolutely no problems whatsoever, the average modder should certainly have no problems with it.

By chance do you still have your settings? I just got Wet Function Redux and I was looking for good settings for it. If you still play mind sending me a DM of them, appreciate it.

You do realize you're necroing a thread from over 2 years ago?

And I always just use the default settings.

Yeah I know it was from two years ago, I honestly wasn't even expecting an answer lmfao, but this was the only thread I seen relating to this. I would do it myself but since I'm somewhat new to Skyrim modding there's a lot of settings I don't really understand you feel me? I'll figure it out, thanks for responding though.

New threads get more attention, also they are not against the rules.
