Charred Skeever Hide
Very useful for cure disease potions. Ridiculously rare. It IS understandable why these aren't craftable, but has anyone thought of making a mod that causes Skeevers to drop charred hide if they have a fire effect on them when they die or are killed by fire damage?

What if you became a werewolf for 100% disease resistance?

There actually are some mods for that type of effect or for crafting them, but don't have links for them immediately available.

Huh, maybe I'll find them someday. Not cra... actually come to think of it, if someone added a skeever pelt as a regular drop, then let you char it in a cookpot, that might make sense.

What if I don't want to be a werewolf?

There is a necklace with 100% disease resistance that appears in general goods stores periodically, worth grabbing.

There are a number of charred skeevers at Stonehill Bluff. I'd think that'd be enough. I keep a few Cure Disease potions and generally don't need them.

FYI, Mudcrab Chitin and Hawk Feathers (Solitude town and Harbor) Also cure disease and are extremely plentiful. With just those two you get the cure but no annoying side effects (Very apt phrase in this case)

Edit: You can use Vampire Dust in a pinch but I don't

Yea, giant camps usualy have 1-3 charred skeevers.
tramper 29 września 2019 o 14:01
Plenty of charred skeever around if you look for them, caves, giants camps, so no, they are not ridiculously rare, i have no issue finding them, not everything falls at your feet and i don't understand what you mean by, aren't craftable, you can make potions out of them.....that's crafting.

I mean you can't MAKE charred skeever hide. Which is silly, all you should have to do is carve a chunk off of a skeever and burn it.

Yeah, in fact I actually already have disease resistance. I honestly posted this as kind of a knee-jerk when I got the idea, I won't need it except as a way to make extra gold (skeever hide and mudcrab chitin has some other effects that make a pretty valuable potion) if I can get a reliable source of charred skeever. At least, until the next time I wipe all my saves and start a new game.

Cure disease isn't that big of a deal since you can cure disease with any shrine.... But adding something like different ingredients depending on how you kill something would add extra stragetic depth to the game.

Also a cooking recipe could work as long as it requires something else like maybe charcoal.

I use a mod that adds a cure disease spell. To be found in most traders.

You don't need mudcrab chitin or skeever hide if you have hawk feathers, since their first effect is cure disease and that effect doesn't have magnitude... you can just chow down some feathers to cure yourself.

They keep cutting stuff out, and I think Charred Skeever hide was an afterthought, it was probably something else up until the last minute.
