Dual Sheath Redux for Skyrim:SE
Hello one and all.

I just wanted to post this in the hopes of helping people who want to use mods requiring "Dual Sheath Redux",as I found it difficult to find troubleshooting help for SE.

First off, I am running this with a i56600k, MSI 1070, 16GB of RAM rug with over 120 active plugins,on ultra with no hiccups,so yes, this is possible.

Secondly, please download and install SKSE64 and SKYUI. Then the 8.0 or above JAVA program mentioned on the mod page.

Next, download "Dual Sheath Redux" from Nexus "manually".

Then unzip the download and place it into a convenient folder(I've got a folder called "Misc. SkyrimSE files").

Next, open your C:/>programs (×86)>steam>steamapps>common>skyrim:special edition>Data folder.

Now open the now unzipped mod and go to "000 Base Mod" and open it up.

In there should be a bunch of files like meshes,textures,etc...

You need to place these files into the right spot in you Data folder.

Example, open meshes on both data and mod, open "armor" on both data and mod then if a folder you have in the mod does NOT exist in the dat a folder, copy and paste the whole mod folder in there. If the folder DOES exist, then open that folder on both mod and data, and copy the content from mod folder and paste/overwrite onto data.

Do this for every file in every category.(took me about 10 solid minutes).

Next,copy/paste the "Skyproc" and esp. Folders from the mod files to the Data file (C:/>programs(×86)>steam>steamapps>common>skyrim:special edition>Data)

Now,open NMM (or MO) and select the esp.

Configure the Dual sheath redux patcher through your NMM(or MO). Similar to how you would set up the body slide studio, select the correct file to launch the tool. The file is in the Skyproc folder you copy/pasted into you Data folder earlier.

Launch the patcher, and set up the correct file paths when it says it can't find it. (The .txt file required me to reveal hidden items in my settings via "view" tab in my ducuments) if you don't know where the .txt and .ini files are, a quick Google search should yield results in a matter of seconds.

Next, should you come across any "missing master file" errors, the way I fixed it was by just unselecting them in my NMM.(also had to do the for the dual sheath redux.esp aswell when it said I was missing it,even though I had it.)

After the patcher runs successfully,it will create another dual sheath redux esp.

Make sure to now re-check all the esp's you unchecked and to manually place the dual sheath redux and dual sheath redux patch esp's to the bottom of your load order (as LOOT has issues sometimes with it) making sure the patch is lower than the original esp.

That's it! It should work now. Please make sure (as should go without saying) to read the instructions provided originally by the mod author for requirements, and general step by step things.

There is a large possibility that all this is already known to most of you,but I find little info on it online, which made it a headache for an apprentice modders such as myself to install it. So this is primarily aimed as a hummanitarian attempt to give others like me a source of refrence when attempting this.

If I didn't get every step I did 100% correct (as I did this over the weekend and it's been a couple days) I will edit this.

If there are issues you (the reader) have experienced and overcame, please feel free to post about it,to help others in the future.

Feel free to request a sticky aswell, should you feel this guide worthy.

Thank you and cheers!

Havent tried this yet but if it works, it definately deserves to be spread.

However, I wonder if his will work with other weapon mods and their respective patches in Redux's mod page. Maybe its as simple as doing the above but also including those patch files in the Skyproccer

Yes, it 100% works.

I am at work now,but when I get home later this evening I'll take a snapshot and post it to my profile as proof.

Really, the patcher is what gave me the most trouble. But as long as you can point it to the correct .txt and .ini files, and try unchecking everything it says it can't find masterfiles for,it should work.

I literally only found 1 other guy on the interwebz claiming to have done this, but he gave very obscure directions, hence, this page.

Good luck, and let us know if you get it running. It'll give more people hope, lol.
Only thing i would say you are missing is nif optimizer and CK64 resaving. And i find doing this manually is very much a hassle compared to doing it the simple way which is just taking all the files provided in RAR and putting them in one folder then use nif optimizer, to optimize them all with one click of a button, recompile all files into RAR, manually add to NMM, install and choose patches and such needed (usually chooses all automaticly).

Then after that all you need to worry about is finding the skyproc patcher through NMM tools like you said in your post. Thats pretty much it You said the rest of it, all i did was save some time and make things actually simpler. You dont even need basic knowledge of CK to resave ESPs other than how to open the thing and press 3 buttons.

Honestly, wonderful insight man.

I suppose I chose to focus on helping people do it the hard way. But that is exactly why I created this thread.

TL;DR anybody looking to do this can choose to install the files using Aleksi's method instead of manually installing the files as I described.

A helpful shortcut indeed.

I need some help. For some reason when I try to run the patch it says that I need to add the Dual Sheath redux.esp to my load order but it is there. I don't know what to do. I would appreciate some help.
I got that everytime I try to patch with Skyrim SE, What I did was since I'm using Mod Organizer I loaded all my weapons and armor with weapons like Arise Chapter 1 and others on the Skyrim Original.....patched it and then cut and pasted it to the overwrite folder in Mod Organizer 2 including the .esp's (dual sheath redux and Dual sheath redux Patch) opened Mod organizer 2 and right click in the overwrite at the bottom of the left pane clicked on Create Mod, then just activated it in MO2 and it workded suprisingly. Including the MCM menu for Dual sheath. But because I couldn't rescale the weapons because no RaceMenu for SkyrimSe It looked like Anime weapons....lol if you need me to clarify anything just let me know. It shouldn't work but it did for Skyforge weapons,Vanilla weapons Arise and one other.
The sucky part was having to install skyrim and MO to pull this off. But since all my downloaded mods for any bethsda game is on a seperate hdd, it was easier than loading mods as well. All I had to do is Restore game thru steam and drag and drop my MO folder from backup to game folder in C:/
I will try to help if I can.
Well Im using NMM and when I launch the java patcher through it it works fine but when I try to patch that message pops up.
Yeah I cannot help you if your using NMM. It is very limiting to what you can and cannot do. For modding, it's better to use MO2 and MO for Skyrim. It's really not that hard to do. You can still keep NMM while using MO or MO2. Just have to disable ALL the mods in NMM. Purge the Data folder with NMM then within the TESV.exe folder install the MO or MO2 folder and open folder and execute modorganizer.exe. then link MO or MO2 to you mod folder for NMM and then you don't have to download everything again. Install the mods you want to use Dual Sheath Redux with and run the patch. Go into MO folders and look for "mods" ,inside there look for Dual Sheath Redux and Dual Sheath Redux Patch and ALL the assets.Combine them into one folder and delete the "meta" files. Refresh MO2 in SkyrimSe and profit. Thats what I did for my setup and oddly enough it works. The only problem I am having in Skyrim SE is Thane Brylings house is totally missing.

This is the only problem I have had with installing mods on Skyrim SE.
The screenshot says Skyrim because I followed the video to upload custom screenshots.

Apologies, I've taken a bit of a hiatus.

As odd as it sounds, I actually had to uncheck the Dual Sheath Redux.esp in my load order for the patcher to take off.

And for the record for anybody wondering, I was able to accomplish this on NMM
Cool. Yeah I just finished Skyrim SE, Now playing DA Inquisition. Man I wish Bioware and Bethesda would create a Data folder framework so modding Bioware games would be just as easy as Bethesda.
Hey, I'm a bit tardy to the party, but my "000 base mod" folder didnt have a textures folder inside. Is there supposed to be one? It's probably also why im probably not seeing any shield or left sword, they just magically appear in hand even though i did everything you said 100%.
