HELP! My Mods Are Breaking My Brain!

So, I've followed EVERY BLOODY tutorial I can possibly find to download and execute my mods for Skyrim SE. I've downloaded and attempted to use FNIS so many times my eyes are crossing. I've got NMM up, my mods loaded up, updated FNIS Behavior every...single...time I clicked a mod and even in the orders told online. My animations are still whacked, my opening scene it of the horse's arse and the wooden board of the driver's seat while heading into Helgen.

I've got FNIS, SkyUI SE, SKSE64, SexLab Light SE, SOS, SpouseEnhanced, XP32 Enhanced Skeleton Special Extended, and UNP Female Body Renewal in my NMM.

Do I have too many? They all say they aren't contradicting one another. But when I load Skyrim from my NMM, it says I need SKSE64 or to update it. I've already uninstalled, reinstalled, and tried every which bloody circus hoop I've been told to jolly-hop right on through. Still nothing seems to work.

Can ANYONE PLEASE help me? I feel like a moron and I'm usually pretty damn adequate with my computer skills. This is making me want to Fus-Ro-Dah my damn laptop into next week...

If you know that SkyrimSE is up to date, and SKSE64 are up to date then the SKSE64 install must be wrong.

Go to your folder Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition and delete any SKSE files. Go to your SKSE64 downloaded archive and reinstall. Some people have been having the files overwrite instead of deleting them first and the install is failing.

Now if your saying screw this, it is already fine.

Then you need to disable all the mods except for SKSE64 and SkyUI, and see if it will load that way. If it doesn’t work(gives an error) then go to Steam launcher and see if the game itself will load.




If you have an unyielding love for NMM, you don’t need to read any farther.

I need to mention, although I don’t think NMM is at fault here…….

NMM is no longer developed, some people have picked up the code base, and they are trying to keep it from breaking to badly. It never made it out of Beta before the team dropped it and put the code base out to any takers.

Switch to MO2 or Vortex(NMM replacement)

And a Vortex plug….
If you use Vortex you will never look back.

I have Vortex and apparently I've been given the wrong impression that Vortex and NMM are the same thing. So I've been trying to use Vortex. It SEEMS straight forward enough. I'll try the SKSE64 stuff. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll get back to you afterwards.

Still not working. I even uninstalled EVERYTHING to reinstall it. This time using Vortex for everything except the SKSE64. Now it won't even launch Skyrim at all.

using Vortex is a great choice, I use it and swear by it.
ok so it looks like you don't have xpmse for your female body, I could be wrong but if you don't have it you need it and I also see the number of bones is not 115 which is also important, I would reinstall it either way. here's the link and when you install it make sure it is low in your low order.

and you have the wrong version of skyrim romance you need the version for Skyrim Special Edition.

Nope! It works now!! Thanks!!!! It FINALLY worked after I took the xpmse off. Instead, I have a nude female mod and it works...ahem...very well with the spouse enhancement mod...ahem. Lol. So thank you!! Yay!! Not so vanilla Skyrim anymore!!

have fun dude, i have the same problems as you with this skse, i deleted all modfiles and gamefiles and now iam reinstalling skyrimSE ...so letz wait how it works for me lel :D
