Welp, somehow I've crashed the game
I installed Vortex, then added some mods. When I started the game, everything was fine until I hit 'enter' to load the selected game, and then nada. Running SSEEdit, the fatal error I got this after clicking 'OK' (I pasted in the whole thing, but the fatal error occurs almost immediately The first file that does get successfully loaded is the one right after Dragonborn.esm in the load order (RSkyrimChildren.esm). The load order begins with Skyrim.esm, Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, HearthFires.esm and then Dragonborn.esm.

I validated the files with Steam, and found no problems.

And just to add some more info, the game even crashes when I run it from steam. I'm guessing that one of those mods has done something to the game files, but I have no idea how to go about finding out which one. Would disabling the mods one at a time work to solve this?

To add more information: The Plugins.txt files begins like this:

# Automatically generated by Vortex
*RSkyrimChildren.esm
*Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp
*JerralMountainsCitadel.esm
*JerallMountainsCitadelPart1.esm
*RigmorCyrodiil - Sounds.esm
*RigmorCyrodiil - Textures.esm
*ApachiiHair.esm
*ApachiiHairFemales.esm
*ApachiiHairMales.esm
*RigmorCyrodiil.esm
*BBLuxurySuite.esm
*Apachii_DivineEleganceStore.esm
*HouseofHorrorsDivine.esl
*SMIM-SE-Merged-All.esp

I've pasted only the part that SSEEdit displayed, plus one more (the SMIM-SE-Merged-All.esp file).

Apparently the problem occurred right around there. Disabling those files didn't help.
