Does commands "ruin" the game?
So, im wondering if someone uses commands like "player.additem" to have like 1.000.000 gold. Does this afect in achievements or just affect the game because you can do a lot of things with these gold?

I think you're best off playing the game as it should be played. You seem to want the achievements. I suspect that you are wanting to know if you can cheat to get achievements by using console commands.

I will warn you, be careful what you wish for. Certain console commands can cause a lot of problems. Especially when it involves questlines, script and quest items.

My advice, play it vanilla to get your achievements, if this is your first time with the game and you want achievements first. Then after you got em, do whatever.

I personally couldn't care less if the achievements all decided one day to partake in a mass suicide.

Yep. Ikr. I played Skyrim (the normal version). And i had no idea if this version commands will disable achievements or just make of Skyrim a game without sense.
Thanks for your answer.
Ah I should have looked at your profile first really.

A more smoother note; yeah, console commands are like offerings of corruption from Diablo himself - once you get a taste, Skyrim will never be the same again... You can get anything you want. So it will obviously disrupt the natural progression of levelling in the game.

On the other hand, it is good if you just want to sandbox or test stuff out. It's really useful - but not always good for the game.

It's a bit like facebook.

addItem is usually safe to use, but many other commands can destroy your saved game. Use with extreme caution.

And, if you are going to add something, it shouldnt be gold, that is the most plentiful rescource in the game.:steamfacepalm:

There's a very very easy to remember rule to gaming, whenever you start cheating to make the game "easier" it usually gets ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring.

Yup. That's true.

For me the game ruins itself when I farm perk points by craftng item in bulk. I have so many pricey items I need to sell and so few merchants with enough gold to make it worth my time.

So, to remedy this, I give money to merchants with console commands just so I can trade the remaining stuff I have. And I have a rich merchant mod installed.

It's not even about the money anymore, it's about how much perks I can farm from making Speech legendary again.
I say if you really have to, you can use god mode if you are struggling with a fight and the no clipping if a follower or something is blocking the way.

I recomend not using these two for anything else besides that. Tried doing dawnstar quests, the one where it takes you to another place to travel (the huge map) and the no clippin broke the entire quest where I couldnt open the door to progress

I wont use SAM. My question was because, for example, i want to buy a house and i have no money, so maybe with player.additem i can add enough gold. But i dont know if these commands can ruin the game or disable achievements.

I dont know about SSE side, but I was able to do so in the vanilla game and it was fine.
I just say just add enough for the house. Adding gold doesn't break the game, for me anyway, but it will spoil you so I wouldn't really do it that much.

even though vanilla was modded, I was able to still get achievements for some reason but not too interested in skyrim achievements to be honest. I explore and side-track to much lol

I have lost Jenassa. I have searched lots of places that google said she might be but no luck...

If i use the console to find her(mabye the moveto command) will that void steam achievements?
Kaiser Jan 1, 2017 @ 9:39pm
AFAIK, no. Unless it was changed since last I played using console commands will not affect achievements.
Rezonus Jan 1, 2017 @ 11:11pm
mods affect achievments not console commands

If you use commands, it doesnt disable achievements. Pretty sure mods will though i dont remember.

I personally don't care to use commands. It takes away from the experience. When i first played through Skyrim, many many moons ago, a lot of the fun came through grinding. Working your character up. Finding items, crafting items, all that stuff. Yeah it takes time but its more fulfilling.
