Why is my game a black screen on startup?
I swear this game is nothing but problems. After wasting an entire night fixing Visual Studio it finally launches with the nerve to be nothign but a frozen black screen. there is no fix in nvidia control panel you can not set which graphic processor it uses.

Open file explorer, Steam, steamapps, Common, Skyrim Special Edition. Then run the following files as administrator in this particular order. SkyrimSE.exe, and SkyrimSElauncher.exe. This is a fix I used for the black screen of death on the previous version of the game. Which started to have this exact same problem after I upgraded to windows 10.

Please respond to this post if my fix works for you, because I have no way of knowing whether it works or not on the special edition as I am having no issues with the special edition.

I second that: The game is not the problem, Windows 10 is. And when I started from the exe directly, there was no black screen problem anymore.

Black screens = Driver problem, lack of resources, sub-minimum spec video card, or resolution that computer cannot handle when rendering 3D.

If you have "exactly this problem" always start by going to

Steam / Help / System information

which lists what the games see in terms of hardware, and cut and past the result into a new thread asking for help.

Black screen usually means your monitor is off.
