Respawn Times
First Bethesda game I played was Fallout 3. Loved the game but it got boring extremely fast. After beating the game I wanted to explore everywhere. I went grid square by grid square, top left to top right and then one row down and continuously did that. I killed everything in Fallout 3. I explored everything in Fallout 3. Just yesterday I find out that the standard respawn time on enemies and such is one month. This is for Skyrim anyways but I assume it's the same for Fallout.

ANYWAYS, I played a lot of the vanilla Skyrim and one of my most favourite mods was those that changed respawn times from 30 days, to 3 days. My 150 hours in vanilla Skyrim consisted of me constantly starting new games and staying in the Riverwood-Whiterun areas only, modding the heck out of the game, so these respawns were heavily welcome.

Since the Special Edition is new, I understand that they do not have this yet, but it should be but a trivial mod. I found two of them on the Nexus but both are very unpopular. One of them has 200+ endorsements I believe but has comments saying that it likely respawns Skyrim as a whole, which I don't want. The other had 8 endorsements and no comments. I just want dungeons, buildings, and enemies to respawn faster. Can someone try making this mod please? I preferably just want 3 days minimum.

Thank you in advance and thank you for listening to my story! :)

I think you're confused about what those two settings do. The one that had 240 hours as the value is the default respawn timer. It would effect most interiors in the game as well as the general wilderness areas. The one that used 720 as the value is the one that deals with hostile areas, like that mine outside Riverwood near the Guardian Stones. If you look on your map after killing all the Bandits in there, you'll see "Cleared" underneath the name of the place. While the respawn time will still be shorter in your game now, it won't work the way you seem to think it does.

And thanks for the invite, but I'm not into the whole social media thing. I'm not interested in being anyone's "Friend". Nothing personal, I just don't do that sort of thing. I even play all my Steam games offline.
Then I'm confused because the one I had for vanilla Skyrim did just that. There were several options to choose from. I chose the shortest. Enemies respawned faster and interiors repopulated faster.

You're probably referring to this mod:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29973/?

That was only possible because of SKSE, and since there is no version of that for the SE yet it can't be done at this time. Those values you changed are only basic settings, you'd need to use a fairly complex script in order to do what you want. Which won't be possible until SKSE64 is released.

That's not the mod but I understand now. Thank you.

So, like you guys said the respawn timers for cells is 30 days. It's been more than 50 in-game days any nothing has repopulated.. What's going on?

You need to avoid going to an area during that time frame. Each cell has a respawn timer that counts down, at which time the objects in it will respawn. If you go to that area before that timer has reached the end, it will reset and start from the beginning again.

For example, Embershard Mine was cleared out like 40 days ago and the closest I've gone to it was Riverwood.. So that's too close?

What about the files I edited? I made it 10 days...

I am not sure if it works or not, but Wrye Bash allows you to modify cell respawn time into your bashed patch under tweak settings.

I'll look into that.

I just checked other places. I still have that file where I set respawns to 10 days but even areas I've not been to in more than 30 days haven't respawned like the bandit toll road just east of Whiterun. I've played for 84 in-game days and so far, nothing has respawned. Even areas I've been nowhere near.

What's going on?

EDIT:
Okay, well I just went back to Embershard Mine and apparently the cell DID respawn it just says 'Cleared' on it.. So I assume all my locations are going to keep saying 'Cleared' when they actually do respawn. This will make it very difficult to know which is respawned and which is cleared but oh well.

Yeah, that "Cleared" label never goes away once it's there. A big oversight on Bethesda's part.

"Cleared" is not really an oversight when you think about it's intent. "Cleared" is there so you know which dungeons you've already done. If you are a player like me (and want to clear every single dungeon/quest in game), "cleared" is how you keep track of which dungeon's you've already done.

Sometimes, you might discover a location but don't want to explore it yet because you do not have the quest. If "cleared" reset, you could not tell which dungeons you've already beaten and which ones you didn't visit.

That said, a new notification that said "Respawned/reset" would make sense.

Just did this and can confirm. It works. Download the timeframe you want. There are mutliple versions. Extract the zip file and drag the .esp to you Skyrim Data Folder. Then go to your in-game Mod Menu, and activate it from there.

Thank you Sun's Delusion! :-D

Yes that true, but with some of the radiant quests you end up getting sent back to the same areas again after they've respawned. So your choice is to complete the quest to avoid an area you've already been to or ignore it. At the very least that label should get cleared if a bounty quest, for example, sends you back there. Or changed to something like "Visited".

I thought Skyrim mods like this wouldn't work for Special Edition. :/
