I figured out what happened. I cleaned out my documents, downloads, music, pictures, etc folders because I dont save anything there. My games have their own drives, as well as my other stuff. So when I deleted it, i deleted my saves. WHY does skyrim save everything there? My other skyrim games don't save anything to those folders.

Also, FYI Skyrim is not the only game which saves to Documents. There's quite a few that do.
Almost all modern games save outside their own file structure, it makes transfering/backing up saves a lot easier.
I checked, for me the new Skyrim:SE is the only one that does. My other skyrim: legendary edition did not and neither do any of my other steam games.
Yeah checking how to turn that on right now.
I usually check where files get saved, but I just recently bought this version of skyrim and didn't check it this time because I never have a problem with saves. Right now it's the only one missing saves.
