Auriel's bow is a Daedric artifact?
Did anyone ever know this? I only ask as there is no information on it and I do not have the unofficial patch installed.

Does Auriel's Shield also count as another Daedric artifact since it is from the same God Auriel?

Not as far as achievements are concerned. That's all she wrote.

That doesn't make sense. Why would Auriel's bow count as a Daedric artifact but not the bow as well? Furthermore it would place much less pressure on finding 15 different Daedric artifacts since some of the actual Daedric quests are just (politely) crap.

Perhaps this is something for the unofficial patch modders to consider.

Probably because it is an Aedric Artifact, also because it may predate the creation of the Mundus (back when the definitions were Anuic or Padamaic rather than Aedric/Daedric) and thus predates the seperation between Aedra and Daedra.

Or if you want a real world explanation, because the programmers didn't want to take apart the entire game to add a category for one item added by the Dawnguard DLC.

Ah the achievement, fair enough, they could have added it to Daedric artifacts for that, probably an oversight.

There are Daedric Artifacts and Aedric Artifacts. why would they add an Aedric one to the Daedric list?

We all Soooooooo! over think this game LOL.

The bow and shield came out as part of the Dawnguard DLC and as such were never part of the original achievements ... Steam didn't bother adding them, it's got nothing to do with Bethersda. Of course they are artifacts ... just not to steam.

But yet I got the Daedric Influence achievements by picking up Auriel's Bow.

Well that seems like it's the thing that's wrong.

With Unofficial Patch Auriel's Bow counts as an artifact and makes progress towards Daedric Influence. I checked this myself in original version of Skyrim.

Just goes to show what a load of tripe the patch has become. Its original goal was to FIX things, not apply personal preferences, interpretations, and rework quests to make them easier. As with all good things in life they will surely end at some point and, for me, the patch is past its sell by date by a good few months - if not years. Bah humbug.. :P

steam doesn't make achievements for games (excluding valve games of course), the devs do. steam is just the "intermediary" I suppose
