Death by fast-travel
I was just outside Markarth Keep and went to fast-travel to Anga's Mill, the farm to the west of Windhelm. But when I appeared at the Mill, I was quite a distance in the air, resulting in me dying of fall damage. Anyone know why this happened?

Physics? If you are not using current beta, then FPS exceeding 60 will cause problems in the game.

FPS is usually around 40-50.

More Skyrim sorcery ... you know the flying rocks and grass you see every now and then. You exit the game, come back in and everything is fine. I'm betting what ever the glitch was you became the floating grass LOL, I'll bet you have a very hard time making that happen more than once. Have you tried to reproduce it?

well when I respawned at my last save i fast-traveled back to the same place to see what happened. Again I fell from the sky.

An accurate yet unhelpful response. The issue is still occurring in 2024 and the search engines are pointing people like me here for answers.

So anyway, since the issue itself is not actually a dead one, has anyone found a solution? I am on a PS4 using the anniversary edition and it is happening repeatedly. It started when I fast-traveled away from the Temple of Miraak, which is very high up. Perhaps the game reset the ground level?

Update: all I was able to do was delete the latest save and go somewhere else to fast-travel from, Raven Rock to be precise. I hope there is a better way. I save often so I came out okay.

Coming to a forum dedicated to PC gaming might not be the most effective way to remedy a console problem.

I appreciate your fast response - however I have 4 copies of Skyrim on PS3, PS4, and PC. This specific thread which details the exact issue I am talking about existing on a PC proves that this problem, like many other anniversary edition problems, is not device-dependent. It is a well known bug on many platforms which is why I posted the request here like others have. It is quite inaccurate to call it a console problem. Perhaps someone finds a solution.

Hey, did you know there's a button to make a new thread for a current issue on the current version of Skyrim instead of breaking the forum rules and hijacking a 7 and a half year old thread?

There's being useless, and then there's being an active liability by not following proper forum etiquette.

Then, and follow along with me here, search engines would lead people to this new, current thread, instead of this extremely irrelevant old one.

Mind blown. I know.

I do not see such a button on my screen. Not sure asking for help on a forum is really improper etiquette, but I will take that under advisement.

What I do see: 'Post Comment' and 'Post Reply' as well as a checkbox to subscribe to this discussion -- nothing else. Just so you know. Thank you for your guidance.

The reason it is not allowed is because it is considered spam. There is very, very, very few reasons that an old thread should be revived.
