Installing RAM is easier than tying your shoes in the morning. I believe in you.
You missed out shuffle across a carpet in your socks before remove ram stick.
Vanilla yes modded no! you can download more ram you should try :()
You can run SE on 4GB of RAM. It's going to be stuttery (particularly when riding your horse across the wilderness), and your hard drive is going to get a thrashing as it desperately tries to keep up in the virtual memory department, but you can run the game on 4GB. Interiors are fine, so dungeon delving doesn't suffer the same performance issues.
I have 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a GTX 750Ti and a ten year-old CPU. I run SE. I'm never going to get 60FPS, but then I'd be delusional to expect that. When your hardware is inadequate, it pays to lower your expectations a little.
