If you're new to Skyrim, or just having problems, and not sure where to begin ... Just ask. All are welcome, If you can grow pubic hair you're already an old fart to someone.

This is just a place to hang, chat, ask questions, and get abused by forum regulars. Feel free to drop by ... We might not have all the answers, but we probably already know the people that do, and we will be happy to help.

Bashing, spamming, self promoting, advertising, and trolling will simply provide us with target practice and make you look really lame. Please leave politics and religion at the door as well.

Personal attacks against forum guests based on country, race, ethnicity, and lifestyle preferences will not be tollerated in any way ... Period, and we will be enforcing the moderators rules around here ... Period

Keep it clean (mostly) While the game is listed as mature, a lot of the people aren't
Keep it civil (always) arguing a little is fine, just keep it friendly

Move over young ones ... Gramps moved back in.

MageThis, *I* am the OEM :P
Kinda off-topic with the Skyrim stuff, but anyone know any good texture overhauls for Oblivion?
So did the low fps glitch with SSE ever get fixed?

Does that mean we just went back to OEMs supplying custom OS dvds at sale with propriatary start up sequences to go with the profiles... IE the HP Proliant servers ... I know it's bound to the bios, But I Always loved the way they fired up all the fans in reverse at full speed every time you initialized the boot sequence to clear the dust. I assume its also something we're going to see hyped by laptop OEMs. It could seriously affect cooling as well as performance.

BTW, Proliants, like all HP were/are crap. Cheapest parts at the time. Rolling out drivers was just stupid. We built, deployed, Intel solutions, all enterprise quality including the 10K scsi drives Built my company then retired because of crap like HP.

Edit: don't now now about the HP were/are crap.. they were based on constantly shifting cheap parts. Don't think Lenovo is any better. Did I just type that?

HPs were just like all the rest, "ALL of them" built from a shifting morass of low end ROC and Malasian parts. I knew all about the better options, I've custom built a "few" racks in my time. (before blade servers) But when you were dealing with a very small medical practice, or an accounting firm, having the ability to sit the doctor/lawyer/accountant...Etc. down over a cup of tea and discuss getting their entire practice history OFF that low end Dell (non comercial) 4 year old PC they brought in from home, and into something I could rely on that "THEY" (knowing they had no clue) thought was a good value... Well lets just say it often revolved around conceptions of persieved quality, and brand names.

It all comes down to what you can sneak in under the radar for the least amount of money to them as the consumer as well. The Dell servers were hulking great heaps waiting to fry, and they upgraded their parts so often by the time you needed to do any major repairs it was easier to scrap the hardware then to upgrade it. We've all been there I'm sure. I did what I could.

When I finally gave up trying to explain the differences, I ended up getting very tight with one or two specific reps at CDW (back when you still had individual reps)

You know the way my head works by now... I would weigh the options and completely config a beast in my head based on MY ideas of what needed redundancy for that specific business.

I know they weren't great, but you have no idea what a selling point it was to dial the "gold tier" reps que on speaker phone, have an actual human answer the phone... Oh yes Mr. Sheffrin Mark is on the phone right now, but John is free. Can he help you while you wait for Mark? ...

Hi John I need a quick quote for an important client...

Proliant chassis, Hot swappable drive bay, Dual processors, dual power supplies, we're going with dual Raid 0, OS drives, and a Raid 5 stack for data all in SCSI2... and throw in the secodary fan pack. What are the current procs? Oh and l'll need this shipped tomorrow with MS server, 2 server licenses, 15 client licenses, SQL with 5 seat licenses, and I'll want a 5 year SBD 8hr support contract ... I'll install everything just ship the boxes. No sorry I tried to talk them into the upgrade. Lets talk price.

I got a lot of contracts being able to do that off the top of my head with the owner in the room. I guess it was always a compromise, but I knew it would run through the end of the support contract, and you couldn't take it out with a sledge hammer. Cheap crap... yes, but way better cheap crap then they were used too. Like everything else it was all perspective. When it was an insurance firm with 300+ desks I had way more options and knew how to talk to the accountants (the ones that actually made the decisions not the IT people)

Ahhh the good old days LOL

I'm being rude again ... started the day with my wheels spinning I guess.

Good Morning Skyrim! there now I feel better

Haven't even checked the dev forums I'm following. It's just not that kind of morning I guess. I'll catch up a little later, I feel like working on the new guide series while the brain is still working.

Needed a change, the brew of the day for me is Verona, a fairly bland medium roast with a nice body. It's just that kind of grey morning. Hope the day finds everyone well.

My only issue with Win10 was having to turn off all those back ground operations in the first place, then having to turn them all off again because of someones anniversary (or was that adversary I always get that confused) then had to turn them off again for no reason after another update a few months later when I entered a simple cmd command in the search window and Cortana tried to get to know me yet again. That crap has to stop, If I say OFF I mean OFF
Yeah, that the main problem, that and microsoft not being able to cope with people having different levels of experience. It's all moron level for them.

Sorry Nerd, didn't want you to fall through the cracks. I'd be interested in that as well. I just started thinking about Oblivion, but haven't actually done anything with it yet... Hope a few nice choices pop up here.
Hello evryone,

I'm new, but I don't think I'll bother anyone if I can just curl up in this corner and snooze for a bit.

I only understood Avrie05's last post - so don't expect much contribution from me lol.
Oh heck, not the comment about oblivion - the one about coffee

This is a virtual coffee house, our host Avrie05 generously provides imaginary coffee for us to enjoy. You might even occassionally get to the cookies before Gnewna, but unlikely :steamhappy:
Hi Steve, saved you a nice seat over by Gnewna. Don't mind that quiet growling, she's just dreaming. Just mind the piles of JDs peanut shells, wouldn't want you to slip. Welcome to the dark side. This is where we hang mostly now. Drop by any time.
Is there a way of finding this place easily, I'm currently having to skip back in my own thread to the link you kindly supplied for me.

Another envelope at the top of my screen would be nice - pretty please!
The button up top right that says subscribe ... but you probably already did. If you click on the envelope it will bring you into your current subscribed list. this should be right up top. along with your thread ... just click on new comments even it there are no new comments

Hi Gnewna :) tosses a cookie... Did we ever find out if it's Reggie or Regina? these things are importamt to a badger, I'll have to ask BA again.

grew up with such bland foods. We had peanut butter and jam. I might have enjoyed crisps. I certainly like the puffed rice ones I eat now, but hedgehog? I'm not sure road killl crisps would sell in the states LOL
A local radio station here used to do a bit called "rudy's road kill market". I was wearing the T-shirt when I dumped a motorcycle. Turned out to be somewhat prophetic.
