What I usually do is to build a hearthfire house and send them to there. But now, as a companion, I believe it is not "fit" to have built housing. An option could be to have a single small house to "store" three or four followers.
A lot house mods are too large, dragonsreach scale ... with all those racks, plates, mannequins
Sigh, I typed out a few suggestions and the blumming app refreshed and it's gone. Do you have any preference for location? There's some nice "city apartments" that might be good, they're usually meant more for player or player + one follower, but if you've got some way of placing bedrolls I think you could headcanon that they've clubbed together to pay rent on a place (maybe they go off doing mercenary work when you're not around!) Otherwise I can think of a few houses that are not wildly bigger than vanilla, or they are a bit bigger but don't feel like big empty spaces like a lot of places so, but I can't face grabbing the links again if they might be completely not what you're after in terms of location.
Do you like Uthgerd? I use her house for roleplay after we do a mission or too together.
I use this mod. You might need to get her relationship up (The brawl usually does it).

A bedroll down in her Lower room usually suffieces. Either with a mod or console.
Though I have gotten (You are not supposed to be here) if the timing is wrong. Not often but enough depending on time.
Skyfall Estates sits outside Whiterun and will hold everyone. THe foot print is small outside, inside is deceiving, as it has everything and holds everyone is a simple manor. It has additional floors with load screens which helps if you need more storage and save on FPS.
If you use JKs Whiterun Outskirt you'll have to patch the exterior cell.
Lonewolf's Manor holds around a dozen followers, it is fancier and sits along the river outside Riverwood. It is a lovely house but a bit over the top if you like simple.
Bathing Beauties outside Whiterun will house everyone. Place is not my taste but if you just want to dump followers for long term and never visit - it's good.
For the vampire playthrough. Karlov has an addon to allow 14 followers.
Good luck finding a place.
Morning Skyrim ~.~

Morning Luv *hugz* I wanted to mention how right you were about the expanded dialogs reusing lines inappropriately to the point of being distracting. I keep hearing too many 'chopped up' Lydia and Carlotta signature lines coming from bandits and the like. It's getting hard to deal with bandits reusing Catlotta's edited dialogs as idle lines. hearing "I've got a hungry child to feed, they'll never understand" as they stand up and charge at you with an axe. I'm waiting for one to shout "I'm sworn to carry your burdens" while running at me with a battleaxe.
Respect.
It's honestly amazing that Bethesda didn't seize the opportunity to release new DLC when they released SE. They didn't even do it when they released AE, yet imagine how much they'd have made off a new DLC to somewhere like Morrowind or Hammerfell?
They could have released them every 2 years and it would have brought in valuable cash for Bethesda...
Ah'vrie wishes you well. Sorry for being tardy, but there were celebrations in the streets of Ah'vrie's village that this one could not miss. Anyway, excuse please while the ash pits are emptied and the fires rebuilt. Just because the old cat is getting a late start, doesn't mean we forgo the happy fires... There, much better.
The coffee is Capetown Lungo, and the biscuits are fudge brownie cookies. Checking the hot sheets this morning we had 59 new, and only a handful caught the eye. Let's just stick with those and look fresh tomorrow.
Surge101ex released Atronach Runes
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/148062
"Just a simple spell mod that introduces three new Rune spells that summon Atronachs upon being triggered by enemies. ESL-flagged."
Why are the simplest concepts always the best... Fire, Ice, and Storm... Now that's a trap. Thanks, Have a cookie
Flying Aceholes ULTIMATE Skyrim Reshade preset
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/148047
Slightly over-saturated, and favors the greens a bit. A good basic natural preset. Worth a look. seems more a pitch to get you to look at their collection, but not bad. Thanks.
Cl3mus released Vanaheimr - Landscapes - AIO
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/145439
"All in One of my Vanaheimr Landscapes series."
We knew it was coming and it didn't disappoint. Subtle and natural looking tessellation, Consistent pallet. They took their time and assembled a very nice collection of landscapes textures. This should be on the short list of everyone looking to update landscapes or to add parallax. There are a few required mods, but nothing outrageous. Definitely worth a look, and a couple of cookies.
shazdeh2 released Sky Signs
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/147884
"This mod gives you a power that once you activate, you can select your birthsign (standing stone)." Nicely done, good images, clean UI, slow clap. The old cat has been using 'choose your sign' by Parapets since... 2020? Liked the concept then, still do. Thanks, have a cookie.
But! Let an old cat point out an absolutely unexpected mod of the day.
Sorry, time for a micro rant, it's justified. We all know where the old at sits when it comes to all of these 'starting racial skills' "Mods" Pull up any 20 of them and 'Nords" will be 2 handed weapons and heavy armor in 19 of them
Everyone needs to read this mod page, spoilered sections included. This looks like fun, and can replace my whole stack of 'choose' mods. Finally someone gets it. 3 cookies
Breaded Classes - Player Class Maker by MrPootisBread
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/148048
"Create your own custom class to enhance roleplaying experience. Why play Morrowind when you can mod Skyrim to play like Morrowind?"
Overview: A book is added to your inventory when starting new game, read it to open class creation menu. Select your specialization, favored attribute and allocate six primary skills.
Optionally select your starting birthsign (uses standing stone abilities).
Optionally select a bonus attribute, based on attributes from previous TES titles.
Optionally select a class ability, inspired by predefined classes from previous TES titles.
Would anyone be even remotely surprised if this one's smoothskin restarted today just to test this? This is exactly what you want to add if you value the role playing. Ah'vrie doesn't know about the rest of you, but my characters are always in their own class, and the old cat has always been disappointed with other author's ideas of class. Now you can write the class to fit the character.
The old cat is looking forward to testing this... It has a few requirements that need to be checked, but maybe not today. For today is 420, and It B time to play.
We-B-Open!
Edit... I should add that tomorrow being Easter Sunday (April 20th) it was considered in bad taste... So they held it today, in honor of tomorrow, today... Did I mention the free samples? ;-)
