Good afternoon on a very quiet Friday. I got the last roof resurfacing done for the season, so no more cat on a hot tin roof for this one. My Trading is done until Wednesday/Thursday I actually bought all of my short dated contracts closed a little while ago.

Like everyone else, I have absolutely no idea what the tariff Trumpster fires are going to do to the markets. I think thesmart move is to just sit things out until after the 2nd before I risk writing any new contracts. When you're playing with real money, you have to know when to 'warm the bench'.

Back to watching xLodGen run, 18 minutes into a 3 hour tour, the tiny ship was getting tossed. I better go read the news or something.

If that's too exciting for you Stan, I do have a couple of pictures of paint drying I could post :steammocking:

I'm about to dive back in game. paperwork is now done for the week

Vortex now allows search by date! Whoever over there, who came up with this marvelous idea must really have their A game on. Why something like this was not every thought of before is boggling. How did we ever get by without it? :steambored:

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same search by date concept, but MO2 has allowed you to sort your downloads by filetime (download date) for as long as I've been using it. You can also filter for mods containing archives, mods containing skse plugins, and mods containing .inis or MCMs (among other filters). I still find new things it can do despite using it since 2019.

Good morning folks Hope everyone is doing well.

Scratching head; Yes but might I ask why the Leaf blower?

To blow away the leaves of course!

Ok came across a mod for which I found a little interesting and then thought isn't this what Vortex already does?

The mod in question is ESLifier https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/145168

Is it true that Vortex already does this and that this here would be something for which I shouldn't really worry about. Especially since no one here mentioned it even Avrie?

Understandable but now if Avrie sweeps the coffee shop like he says the floor should be clean.
Corinze 28 MAR a las 3:22 p. m.
lol - I wrote Vortex instead of Nexus :steamfacepalm: I owe Mikk a coffee. On Nexus you can search via a date range again

It is spring cleaning time my good sir, nothing better than a blower to get those winter dust bunnies flowing out the open windows and / or into the airfilter. Plus it is really loud, just in case someone was sleeping, plus they are fun and with the price of husqvarna fuel once you fire it up, you might as well get yours money worth of pure joy having control of hurricane force winds. Gutters got cleaned, truck got a quick hit because of dog fur, patio is done and the cats went a running when I cut through the house to get the front sidewalk ~.~

2:26 hours in on xLod, maybe I'll build a model of Rome while watching some paint dry - lol.

No, Vortex doesn't already do this. Vortex is capable of putting the ESL flag in esp files, maybe compacting esp files, and that's pretty much it. ESLifier does so much more. ESLifier will also patch esp files that reference the file you're compacting (xEdit can also do this). ESLifier will also patch SRD, SPID, Skypatcher etc files that reference the file that is being compacted (xEdit can't do this). It is very comprehensive. And that's not even everything it does.

So your saying that this would be a great tool to add and use? And that it is safe Wonder why Avrie never mentioned it?
smr1957 28 MAR a las 5:28 p. m.
DM, it's a great tool for those who don't really have a clue what they're doing and think that automated programs are the bee's knees. One of those things that I wouldn't touch, nor recommend. If a person doesn't know what they are doing, and doesn't know how to do some of the basic things like determining what files can be made into lite plugins and which should, and doesn't know how to make the necessary patches using xEdit (which would need to be done regardless), having an automated program that will undoubtedly get things wrong, just makes things worse. In other words, I wouldn't trust it under any circumstances.

If you use mods that use frameworks that Avrie doesn't approve of (like SPID and SkyPatcher, among many others) then using ESLifier is a lot more manageable than manually patching those files. Another handy feature is that ESLifier remembers what mods it has compacted and if you add mods later that reference those mods it will patch the new ones. If you don't use those frameworks, and you're not in the habit of adding mods mid playthrough, xEdit will meet your needs.

I just run the script in xEdit when I need it, but to answer your question, you never asked

And BTW... I use spid, kid, oar, bos, and crap ton of other frameworks, I just have no use for skypatcher, I'd rather actually know what is being done. I'm not fond of black box stupid

SkyPatcher isn't a black box. The files are human readable. It's just like all of the other frameworks you mentioned.

You're right, but you have to keep in mind that, in contrary to other frameworks, it does not have a single-purpose approach anymore. It's a powerful tool (I use it myself as well) although, if used incorrectly, people are left behind with problems they don't manage to get resolved. I keep my SkyPatcher setup simple, only leveled lists, outfits and containers are touched. All other SkyPatcher tweaks aren't included because you have to keep in mind what it does change in your game. Like tweaking the armor ratings. It's hard to track this one because it happens that a mod author does not specify the actual name of the armors that they're modifying. This in contrary to a simple ESP(fe) plugin that clearly shows the armors changed.

For "spell" (cloak) assignments of scripts, I use SPID. If there are problems with that, I only have to check my mods labeled with "[SPID]" in my MO2.

Since it is "powerful", I do understand why people are being cautious. It's a swiss knife and can be very nice, but also used incorrectly. Do not forget that the majority or players that have modded their game really don't truly know what they have modified.
