If you're new to Skyrim, or just having problems, and not sure where to begin ... Just ask. All are welcome, If you can grow pubic hair you're already an old fart to someone.

This is just a place to hang, chat, ask questions, and get abused by forum regulars. Feel free to drop by ... We might not have all the answers, but we probably already know the people that do, and we will be happy to help.

Bashing, spamming, self promoting, advertising, and trolling will simply provide us with target practice and make you look really lame. Please leave politics and religion at the door as well.

Personal attacks against forum guests based on country, race, ethnicity, and lifestyle preferences will not be tollerated in any way ... Period, and we will be enforcing the moderators rules around here ... Period

Keep it clean (mostly) While the game is listed as mature, a lot of the people aren't
Keep it civil (always) arguing a little is fine, just keep it friendly

Move over young ones ... Gramps moved back in.

Vortex uses LOOT API, but I still recommend running full LOOT as Vortex application. That shows you patch information and allow editing metadata when needed.

Oh Ok as for the editing of the metadata I've never done that there.

You will mostly do so to change load orders rules for some plugins. LOOT has made that very easy. Menu just asks to select the plugin and if other plugin should be sorted differently.

Ilja, i'm gonna go nuts today. Already looking for a new rig, just incase this one ends up through the window on the streets. What is it. When it comes to slashes, / or \.

And the change is big, cause i went cold turkey yesterday.

Go nuts!
Just not too nuts. :LaughingOwlcat:

Hopefully you find a good rig.

Morning *waves* Had a bit of catch up reading this morning... second cuppa kicking in.

I have the full stand alone 'executable' version of LOOT installed, not on the C: drive and pointed at through MO2. My masterlist is up to date, and it sees all my mods. As Ilja said, Vortex uses the LOOT API but invokes it's own proprietary sorting algorithm. At no time does any of that point to AFK mods?

Sounds like a couple of people here need to put away the scalpel and get out the chainsaw. Uninstall LOOT, wipe any left over files, and do a full standalone installation (Using the exe version which will remove any left over registry entries) to a folder NOT in C:\program files... Mine is on the D: drive, and remember to unblock the download before running it. Windows security has been screwing with DLL and EXE file downloads again recently. An ounce of prevention and all that.

Anyway... too early for thinking. More coffee required. 48 new mods, and the old cat needs a fresh cuppa.

I ain't gonna use a chainsaw, i'm gonna nuke my rig. But before that, i'm gonna move all my mods to an external drive. Then i skip 1170 and go back to 1140.

I'm gonna use Nolvus, next. As a new base to base my list on.

Goooooood morning Tamriel!

Ah'vrie wishes you well. It is Middas the 12th of Sun's Dawn and a crisp predawn here on warm sands. The blessed moons are full tonight so stay in if you can, and remember your silver weapons if you must venture out. Anyway, ity is time once again for this one to tend the inn. Excuse please while the fires are stoked, and fresh water is put to the flame...

Our brew of the day is Cape Town lungo, and the biscuits are Tate's ginger zingers. Checking the hot sheets we have 48 new with all the usual jiggles, dangles, patches and goofs. Let's see what catches an old cat's eye over a fresh cuppa. Definitely a fresh cuppa ;-)

greguire 'teased' with The Whalestone Isles as a first mod. Welcome
Early alpha, another empty island, Good luck, no link needed

gand0rf released Septim Crafting as a first mod. Welcome
"We have gold ingots and can make things with them. Why not Septims."
Thanks, another for the pile. No link needed

Chuivert released Fancy Magecore as a first mod. Welcome
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/141579
"a complete recoloring of Caernarvon's Magecore outfit and a fix for a few texturing errors in the original version" The old cat likes some of the new color schemes. Original mod required. Worth a look. Thanks

PupFenrir18 released Fenrir's Ultimate Spells SSE
:steamfacepalm: 10 day soul trap and paralysis? This one screams NOOB! but thanks

TheBone98 released Vanilla Plus Breezehome
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/141558
"A small yet lore-friendly overhaul of Breezehome, designed to stay in line with its original design." A few banners, an oven, nicer beds, yet still looks vanilla. Thanks! The old cat likes a cozy Breezehome as well. Have a cookie

Lets look a t a couple of fixes... We love those

kraag released Deathbells and Nirnroots Don't Glow At Night
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/141557
two versions, don't glow at all, and glow slightly. They also recommend silent nirnroot... The old cat is seeing a pattern here LOL. Thanks.

JamesTParker released Dragonborn DLC fixes
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/141587
"Fixes the super annoying bug where you followers get stuck in Tel Mithryn. As well as the Fire Wyrm aggression bug."

The old cat just dealt with the NPC stuck issue. It is annoying. This one gets a cookie

RavenKZP released Immersive Weapon Switch - SKSE plugin
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/139762
"If PC or NPC have weapon drawn, he/she/it must first sheathe it before drawing new weapon." This is a 'careful what you wish for' mod. Seems very smooth, but will throw off your timing. It also works on NPCs so it balances out. Worth a look

Satafinix released Dwemer Imperium - Machina -
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/141577
"Dwemer Ruins machinery & Ambient SFX Rework"
"If you don't want to explore dwemer ruins as if you're in a lost civilization with still working nonstop machinery that requires a bit of dwemer oil don't download this"

Definitely listen to the sample... you may need to turn down your effects volume. Thanks

Skyking Farmhouse Wells
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/141568
"Replaces all farmhouse wells and the well in Whiterun along with any mods that place the farmhouse well."

Not to point fingers, but the recent releases all look like low poly stuff forked from Skyking 2020. Is any of this new? Evidently The old cat is not the only one who noticed. PASS

We'll finish up today with a critter update for Grey Cowl 10th anniversary (required)

New animals and new companions with EASY ACCESS in Alik'r Desert by gg77
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/141505
"With this mod you can ride Hammerfell camels and Dromedaries and pass EASILY in the Alik'r Desert where new animals* await you (snakes, hyenas, scorpions, Addax antelope, bats, Hammerfell horses, desert elephant, ibex, bighorn, vulture, Hammerfell fowls, Roadrunner, cats)"

Well the elephants are stupid, someone didn't do their homework, and the hyena's look really weird. The camels and horses look great. Let's just say this is a fantasy desert, and not look tooo close at the scale while riding Antelope. LOL

Worth a look, (and a chuckle) Might need to prune some of the critters though. Thanks

And that will do for today, The fires are stoked, the kettles scrubbed, and the floors... Don't drop your food. Have a seat and the wenches will serve you. We-B-Open! :steamhappy:

Oh... we haven't recommended using the sort button in years... Use the full version of LOOT. takes 5 minutes to install. Works perfectly.

Which version of MO2 are you using. If that's an internal MO2 bug I'll bring it straight to Holt on the discord. MO2 is not linked with AFK mods at all. Either you've got a bug, or they do. Let's make sure this gets reported.
When it comes to the well. The beam ain't round, so it cannot spin when getting up the water. But what worries me, when it comes to Whiterun. The well is a hangout for some NPC's. Not even JK's has crates and barrels around wells. And there's no patch or fix, to adjust the navmesh.

It refers to the loot thread but brings me to AFK.

Version used of MO2 used. V2.5.2

Anyone use chim ai follower framework? I have to turn off my vpn or else get connection timeouts and then followers' ai won't respond, but even then they frequently timeout in exterior areas and even in towns like whiterun. best results inside homes and dungeons and small fake exteriors. I'm reluctant to go to their discord because I was asked to justify my being on discord two times but not on the dwemer dynamics discord, yet.
Avrie 12 de fev. às 5:08
Interesting. I'm using 2.5.3 dev2 but I haven't clicked on the sort button since oldrim and I have no intention of breaking my build to find out where it points. If you can do a screen cap of the sort issue and capture a debug level log as well; I'd report it on the discord. There's also an integrated LOOT log level, and I would set that to debug as well.

It's worth reporting, I'm just not breaking my game to do it ;-)
Where did you get 2.5.3 dev2 from, i have been looking but i only can find 2.5.2.

Nothing of the sort, when it comes to logs. It's all a mess.

Atleast the sort button from MO2, recognizes my JK mods and that i need to install certain patches. And i did not sort. I sort under LOOT but do not implement it, just a peak to see if i need extra's. But since 2 weeks or so, the only warnings i get is a ambiguous load order problem. And that i need to install skyui, i have it.

Welcom to the inn. First drinks always on the old cat.

What you're describing is not a bug. it's fundamental to the functioning of CHIM. That connects to a live AI service. You'll need to set up rules in the fire wall to allow bi directional communications. I don't know of anyone using it, it did just update to the Deepseek AI model. If you're okay with bypassing your security to tie your rig to a Chinese AI service, than that's what you need to do.

The old cat will pass

That's where everything MO2 happens. Nexus only gets full version updates. The issue reports channel is where to post, Dev build channel are the current Alphas, and I live in the testers channel mostly. They will ask for any reports made to be off the current version. (At debug level) But referencing the Nexus version along side will go a long way to getting Silarn and Holt to look into this.

Aaaaaaargh, I just got out of an Uber to an appointment and THEY'VE MOVED, whole building was shut down with a notice of possession on the door so I've got to get another Uber, the new office is further away so this has pretty much doubled the cost of travel, BOTHER AND BEFUDDLE, to quote Cicero.

THX, did not know that.

And my next tutorial to follow, is how to make and file a bug report.
