That's actually the biggest problem of the game. The game doesn't let the player make their own decisions, the game sometimes makes the decisions for them, and the player has to follow these decisions. Interesting! Something I've never really thought about.

Nice seg way into my current dilemma, what to do, what to do... I just surveyed the moon the second temple was on. The game must have decided that I'm doing a speed run to the unity.

I'm supposed to be heading back to the lodge with Andreja, and I need to tell Walter the new ship is moving right along... Open the mission log to set course; and there's three new temples, and two new artifacts in my quests. I think the game is trying to get rid of me. LOL

I might as well get caught up before I go back to the lodge. I didn't think I would see any of those until I spoke with Vladimir again. The game thought otherwise. Interesting side note. All of the temples that appeared on their own were located in star systems I had completely scanned, even if only one planet was surveyed. (I have my own rule, fully survey every world you land on.)

I guess you can make some choices without knowing you made them as well.

The last update is responsible. It fixed a problem where temples were not discoverable before Unity and the way they fixed it was a bit odd. Some locations sort of magically appear without having to talk to Vlad.
If I'm understanding correctly, I think this was happening even before that fix. I would randomly discover temples on planets without asking Vlad for locations first. Even around launch well before the fix.

That could well be though I've only noticed since the May 15 patch (so I was mistaken, not the latest patch) and it is certainly possible I missed prior occurrences.

Yep, that's the one. I haven't played as much since about February, so the random temples I would find were prior to that. But I think some of them are intentional since it triggers the temple quest when discovering them. Though there may be other unintentional instances that are happening due to that fix as well.

I shouldn't think it's Wyrmstooth, that's not a canon location so I doubt Skyrim: Home of the Nords (which is based on Morrowind lore about Skyrim, not TESV lore) would be using an island made up for a Skyrim mod

The island might be Roscrea. As for whats actually in the mod if you line it up with skyrim its in the reach on the border with hammerfall. they started there because its the farthest from morrowind and wouldnt clash with the mainland morrowind mod. Karthwasten and dragon star are the main cities about on par with Balmora or the basegame morrowind cities content wise. theres a few small towns and reachmen camps for secondary settlements supposedly Markarth and the rest of the reach are coming soon but thats been the word for 4 years now. as you guessed it doesnt use TES5 or even TES 4 lore its all based on morrowind books and in home of the nords case the mobile spin off shadowkey.

as for the comment about dragon star being in skyrim. per the mods lore wwhich built of shadowkey. hammerfall and skyrim fought a war during the events of arena when that ended with pat of dragon star under nord rule in the mod its and east west berlin style thing with the crowns running half and nord Jarl running the other well the empire tries and keeps both sides from killing each other

As Gnewna already wrote, most maps are fan-made. The original maps are from the game Arena. Skyrim didn't have any rivers or lakes in Arena. Mountains could only be seen from far away, but you could never reach the mountains. In Arena you had to travel from Riften to Solitude by horse for several weeks, the reason why the events in Arena lasted from 3E 389 to 3E 399, a ten year span. How reliable are those map? Actually not reliable at all.

At least the large island north of Skyrim is not Roscrea, but Olenveld, and Wyrmstooth to the far northwest. But, Wyrmstooth is not part of TES lore. Project Tamriel add several settlements never added to any of the TES games. Could those have existed? Maybe, but then they have been destroyed during the Oblivion Crisis, but also never made it into the lore.
a lot of the settlements in project tamriel like Port Telvanis for example are based on an old pre release map of morrowinds game world from shown as a promo early devlopment when the game was going to be the province and mot just Vardenfall. that said given the lore for most of it is completly nonexistent it all amounts to theory crafting or to put it less kindly asspull speculation based on almost nothing.

I remember months ago having a few 'pop' into the mission logs, but when I landed at the anomaly I ended up eating desk until I talked to Vladimir, and then everything was fine. This just caught me off guard. I can head cannon the ship getting a flash update from the eye.

This time I knocked off the temples, and when I switched over to artifacts a new temple popped up. I did them all then returned to the Lodge. Took Andreja to her room, and spoke with Walter first, then added the artifacts to the armillary. It triggered Mateo's dialog, and ended with Vladimir needing help on the eye. I'll order the flowers now.

It really did feel like a switch got flipped on. It makes me wonder if I crossed off one too many ticks on a list somewhere. I left the Lodge with a lead on the second temple, and came home with 3 artifacts, 7 powers, and basically triggered the lead up to High price to pay. That seem a bit fast tracked to me.

That sure sounds like something triggered a landslide Jack. I've never had that happen, but then I've only gone through Unity once and immediately deleted the entire game and started over. So maybe something to do with NG+? Or are you playing a non NG+ game?
I found the little pesky bugger that soured my life a little mod that stops combat music. for some reason that mod let you ctd upon load after a few seconds.

I'm glad you got it figured out Speed. My game/save just died out of the blue. Other characters still work and I can start new games with no issues. My lvl 59 little soccer just crashes before loading in and none of the older saves work either, so I gave up and started modding Starfield - lol.

This was a vanilla+ restart I'm using to create a series of character saves at different points in the MQ. The weird part is I am wanting to fast track the pre and post Unity saves. Then I can scrap this play through and get to modding the game. I just didn't expect the PK to mind read me and then help me out LOL.

curious question? how can i make my modded character into a stand alone follower and keep all my modded asssets on my character? I have my character saved as a preset. ( would make a good twin sister for roleplaying.
