If you're new to Skyrim, or just having problems, and not sure where to begin ... Just ask. All are welcome, If you can grow pubic hair you're already an old fart to someone.

This is just a place to hang, chat, ask questions, and get abused by forum regulars. Feel free to drop by ... We might not have all the answers, but we probably already know the people that do, and we will be happy to help.

Bashing, spamming, self promoting, advertising, and trolling will simply provide us with target practice and make you look really lame. Please leave politics and religion at the door as well.

Personal attacks against forum guests based on country, race, ethnicity, and lifestyle preferences will not be tollerated in any way ... Period, and we will be enforcing the moderators rules around here ... Period

Keep it clean (mostly) While the game is listed as mature, a lot of the people aren't
Keep it civil (always) arguing a little is fine, just keep it friendly

Move over young ones ... Gramps moved back in.

They are downloaded automatically !

Wait, that means you never played Skyrim AE ?
Nope, just a lot of Oldrim and had like 40 RPs (you can see the screenshots I made, I made about every RP I could think of), then a bit of the SE version. By the time the AE came out, I was Skyrim-ed out and bought Fallout 4.

OK, then you will be plesantly suprised with AE Edition of Skyrim. It's really better then normal Skyrim SE.

As first mod, you can try Wyrmstooth, Falskaar and Beyond Reach. Then this one under, but for this one, read requirements EXACTLY :

Thanks for the recommendations. I remember about half of the 90+ mods I had in Oldrim, they're still some of the top mods on Nexus in SE, but some obscure ones I also like? I don't know that old-school modders ever updated all their stuff. I see a USSEP, SkyUI, Kill-cam, Destruction spell scaling, cloaks, gloves, bandoleers, hide/delete spells, place objects, etc.

I just DL them manually though and drag them into Vortex.

I did read that if I launch the AE version it gives a prompt to DL all the CCs and if I exit out of the game after that, it doesn't give that prompt again. So I can manually DL each CC. But I read that on random Reddit forums and Steam threads, so I'm not sure how accurate that is. Hence why I asked this question in this forum and on the CH.
AE cc content is needed for many of mods. Just install them all and do not worry
Is all of the CC content added to your quest page like they are in F4, once you complete the intro? 70+ quests added to your menu might be... overwhelming.

No, they used to, but when the AE came out they changed the existing ones so you actually have to do something to trigger the quest (at least for most of them, there might be one or two that start immediately, I don't THINK so but there could be)
That is positive news Gnewna

We read through the ct scan reports last night. My wife only has 3 masses with the biggest being around 1.5" or 4.3 cm, the other 2 are half the size and none of them are cancerous. Talking with everyone one at the place, it seems half of use Yanks have this condition and just don't know about it. Now we just have to wait to see what the new doctor orders next but at least it is not as dire as the first doctor made it out to be.

Oh gosh, that sounds like at least a bit of a relief, hopefully the new doctor has a good plan in mind.

Been and got the antibiotics so hopefully they'll help stepdad

Great to hear there were no more complications over night.

Welcome to the inn, first drinks always on the house. If you do download the AE bundle, copy your profile and start a new game. If anything does bother you, remember that specific content can be safely disabled but not deleted. There were a couple of very questionable threads about removing content you should read with a cartload of salt. CC content like all other mods should not be removed mid game. So it's best if you test it on a fresh game start and see what you like / dislike before adding it to an existing game.

Great news as well. Sounds like the new doctor is a keeper. fingers crossed.

Okay, time for a fresh cuppa and to wake the cat. 39 new mods and a handful caught the eye
Gooooooood Morning Tamriel!

Ah'vrie wishes you well. it is Middas the 25th of Hearthfires and another quiet predawn here on warm sands. The blessed moons have set, the paths are closed, and it is once again time for this one to tend the inn for our most honored guests. Excuse please while the fires are stoked, and fresh water is brought to a boil...

Our brew of the day is classic Ristretto, and the biscuits are ginger zingers. Checking the hot sheets we have 39 new mods from all the usual suspects. Let's see what catches the eye of an old cat over a fresh cuppa or two.

YeiZoneX released Dovah Mod Manager as a first mod. Welcome
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/130070
"This is a small, very simple manager for those who like to religiously install mods manually, like me. This tool will not do anything other than modify your plugin masterlist to re-arrange the load order. You install stuff manually and do your thing, then use this to enable or disable plugins and arrange their order."

Obviously this will need rigorous testing, but the concept of a minimal manager for manual modders is interesting and worth keeping an eye on. Thanks, have a cookie

asdawfasfdwfaf released shadow warrior effect disable or replace as a first mod. Welcome
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/130028
"Disable or Replace black smog effect of shadow warrior perk. There are two replacement effects . Green and White."

Interesting. Ah'vrie actually likes the white effect. Like a wisp of smoke. Okay, this one gets a cookie, and thanks for not being a house in Riverwood ;-)

Let's see... Linkmaster13 spammed us with 6 new patches today
https://next.nexusmods.com/profile/Linkmaster13/mods?gameId=1704
Some are better than others but worth a peek. Thanks

Snazzy Interiors - Riften Bolli's House by gutmaw
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/129972
"His wife Nivenor is sick and tired of Bolli giving so much money to the needy, and has decided to update their home, inside and out!" Very snazzy. Nicely done as always.

And finally we'll finish up with wSkeever taking the top slot yet again.

A Shrine of Azura at The Shrine of Azura
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/130094
"Adds a Shrine of Azura at the Shrine of Azura where you can get a Blessing of Azura." Works out of the box with Pilgrim, and Wintersun if you have BOS installed.

Works like the shrine on Solsteim. The empty alter at the statue did need a little love. Thanks. I'd give you another cookie, but your getting fat already :steammocking:

And that will do for today. The firs are stoked, the kettles scrubbed, and the floors are... We'll mop it later. Have a seat by the fires and warm your bones. We-B-Open! :steamhappy:
Xelzaz has Dawnguard commentary now, among other things - sure hope I get to play through it some time soon!

I hope he is feeling better very soon. And I hope you are able to get some rest yourself. Remember, you have to care for yourself in order to keep caring for others.

That is very good news, Corinze. With only three masses, they might not even need to do surgery but instead just watch and see how things look over the next few years. <fingers crossed>
Yeah, I'm staying flat as much as I can today, though there's at least three or four more lots of stairs to deal with (two more carer visits, a grocery delivery, plus possibly another delivery of supplies)
gnewna lähetti viestin:
Oh boy, had to do a big exhausting caretaking job all by myself cause it needed doing shortly after the carers' first visit of the day/couldn't wait until the next one, I feel like a hollowed out lettuce leaf
sadly even if it could have waited you would probably have ended up doing it...

I remember my great gran saying the carers were useless, they came around 11am to get her up.... as if she was going to stay in bed until 11 in the morning just to fit in with their schedule.... then they asked her what she wanted for breakfast.... she just looked at them and told them she had her breakfast at a norm time not nearly lunch... she ended up telling them not to bother coming back.
I feel you gnewna. Stairs cause me to pause and look at the Universe like this...

When we were transitioning domiciles we rented a multistory house for a short while. One of our dogs at the time was a senior and suffered arthritis. Every time she wanted to go upstairs she would pause at the bottom and look at us like "why on Earth did you not get a flat house?". Dogs can do accusatory looks that will break your heart.

She needed to pause at least once on every trip and when we could we would carry her up the stairs. We promised the new house would be flat and kept that promise and the rest of her days were happily spent not missing staircases.

Oh, for that wish of mine to come true...
