But here is the thing: I don't care :D If I know and can prove that I haven't intentionally been rude or set out to hurt anyone, then I have no reason to feel guilty. But we can certainly have a constructive discussion if there is something that could have been said better. But I don't buy into all the manipulation that I feel many people are practicing these days. People who want you to feel lousy, so they can feel better about themselves.
That is very sad. I have found that having a conversation with people who might be the complete opposite in pretty much everything can be super interesting. But both parts has to be willing to have the conversation for it to even work - which is where it often falls apart. Those who label you as a bad person might just be projecting their own sense of failure to tolerate your different views on things.
i never realised that, i used to eat topics from time to time, but preferred Lion Bars and Picnics to them for some reason.
Ding, ding, ding! (winning bell)
My 30-something son, who is incredibly shy, started a small social group for others about his age with similar interests. They had lots of fun get-togethers and outings until two particular members tried to make themselves look superior by constantly pointing out the flaws of their "friends." It ruined the fun to the point where my son just walked away from the group.
I think it is human nature for us to feel better when we remind ourselves that there are others whose problems are bigger than our own. But when we make ourselves feel better by making others feel badly about themselves -- especially those who are supposed to be our friends -- it has gone way too far.
I think it is an immaturity issue, one that obviously has nothing to do with age.
But it's also fair to point out I think that there are people who don't take even constructive criticism very well. I have been accused online a couple of times for acting superior myself :p I really wasn't though. I was just pointing out certain facts, which the other party didn't like. So their best response was to call me a person with a superiority complex - which is pretty hilarious for reasons I won''t even dive into. My point is just that it's not always a blessing to be good at debating. Especially not when people want to turn you into something ugly just because they are not as eloquent and/or perceptive.
I do terrible with "white lies", for example, and if you ask my my opinion, I'm usually going to give it. Yes, that dress is definitely a little tight, you should probably wear one of the other ones. Wait, you didn't want to know that? Then why did you ask?
Honestly, it's easier for me to tell a straight up lie than a white lie.
It's also why I always type alot when explaining stuff. Gotta lay out the entire logical proof for every answer.
As for politics (as a subject, not specifics). I personally think that politics is one of the most interesting things to discuss and it is an absolute shame that it's typically a banned topic. Don't get me wrong, I understand why it is banned / frowned upon as too many people get heated over it. But, honestly, the fact that it cannot be reasonably discussed is a major detriment to society. You can't bridge the gap between you if you can't talk about why it exists.
I was talking with my father, and he said he worried that there are some in this world gaining power and political support by increasing divisions, by making us see everyone else as monsters we can’t even be in the same room as, can’t talk with, can’t be friends with.
There is people on both sides that look on the other side with disgust and rage, but I think that this is a dangerous situation where people won’t associate with each other cause they’re on the wrong side regardless of what side you’re on.
There are as many folks that call liberals monsters as there are those that call conservatives monsters.
And both sides deride moderates for not being on their side.
The only way I see of improving this situation is by interacting with folks from all sides, perhaps if we do some of these divisions could start to fall apart.
We need to have more conversations.
titled: 2 identical PCs and one CPU is running really hot
My big advice would be to check the fans. First, make sure they're spinning at all. Second, make sure that they are spinning in the proper direction. It's a surprisingly common issue where heat results from fans working against each other and messing up the airflow.
hehe for me im actually just a simple person, so if a girl asks me if her bum looks big in this, i simply ask if they want it to look big or not :)
(and Then i answer) :)
I think I might grab a multipack of Topics from work....
The mark of a great game... played through lunch, played through dinner, played for hours after my nap time, overslept, and woke up in a fog ready to play... then realized it's Morndas. It's official, SF meets the old cat's criteria for a great game. I haven't logged this many hours in so short a time since Oldrim came out.
I'll wake the cat in a bit, this feels like a three cuppa morning. 40 new mods, minus the jiggle maybe 4 catch the eye... more coffee needed
Ah'vrie wishes you well. It is Morndas the 16th of Frostfall and a very still predawn here on warm sands. The blessed moons have set, the paths are closed, and it is once again time for this one to tend the inn for our most honored guests. Excuse please while the fires are stoked and fresh water is put to the boil.
Our brew of the day is Istanbul espresso and the biscuits are Toll House. Checking the hot sheets we have 40 new with plenty of jiggles, dangles, patches and pointy sticks. Let's see what caches the eyes of an old cat this day...
dalyeau released Defeat the Dragon Cult (by Joining the College and the Companions)
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/102725
"Delay the main quest by having Esbern redirect you to join the Companions and the College in an immersive way, as well as defeating all the Dragon Priests, before you're ready to defeat Alduin."
It's a second mod so the old cat tends to forgives that it's actually agd25's mod released back in March which is not required. This mod simply adds a note from Esbern. The note is actually quite well written. The old cat does question the timing though. At least for old cats, if you were going to do the companion quest line, it was long done before you ever met Esbern, but that doesn't ruin the note or the original mod. Thanks, but next time publish as a patch not a stand alone... so as not to insult the original author. Thanks.
Sack -O- salt time
jepster released CPU Affinity and Priority setter for SKSE
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/82816
"This mod starts skse64_loader.exe (or VR version of it) and automatically sets CPU priority to high as well as CPU affinity as suggested by most performance tweakers (disables one of the logical cores on the first 2 physical cores)."
Nexus has it flagged as suspicious but that's the default when you publish an EXE file. Frankly I'm not thrilled with the assumptions made. This is based specifically on "MO2 with CPU Priority and Affinity Setup" but offers none of the caveats and configuration options... Good intentions maybe, but the old cat does not get a warm and fuzzy. Needs testing, but not by old cats. Pass
Ryn's Lost Valley Redoubt
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/102676
"An expansive overhaul of the Lost Valley Redoubt, with a newly added interior dungeon, and a new unique weapon."Typical Ryn... lots of added walls, and such. Some make more sense than others. There are no interior pictures of the added dungeon. Needs testing in game. Thanks
And finally the top slot goes to Rallyeator
SpiRally's Beautiful Butterflies Enhanced by Rallyeator - StoneSpiralGaming
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/85583
"Replacer for butterflies and moths. Adds 14 new Butterfly species with additional spawns and optional interior spawns for some locations. Includes Jars (Vanilla/TMD) and various fixes. ENB Light version available."
This was a combined effort of two well vetted mod authors and it really shows. The new butterflies are beautiful, and interesting. and even includes a few interior spawns. You'll really want to read the mod page. They really touched all the bases. The old cat might finally have a replacement for 101 bugs. This one gets 2 cookies, and might deserve 3.
Downloaded for testing in my next build. Beautiful work.
And that will do for today. The fires are stoked yada, yada, We-B-Open!
That butterfly mod is really beautiful - going by the images, Rally seems to have caught the "dustiness" of the butterfly wings perfectly. Also, it is good to see that they included the changes made by Butterflies Unchained in the mod.
Though again, as I often say, even though a mod author may be great at creating mods (and Rallyeator is one of the best), that doesn't mean that they actually know how the game works, as demonstrated by the following on their Description page:
"UNINSTALL
Disable/uninstall the mod from your manager or remove the files from your Skyrim directory"
For almost all mods, that should be titled "HOW TO BREAK YOUR GAME."
