If you're new to Skyrim, or just having problems, and not sure where to begin ... Just ask. All are welcome, If you can grow pubic hair you're already an old fart to someone.

This is just a place to hang, chat, ask questions, and get abused by forum regulars. Feel free to drop by ... We might not have all the answers, but we probably already know the people that do, and we will be happy to help.

Bashing, spamming, self promoting, advertising, and trolling will simply provide us with target practice and make you look really lame. Please leave politics and religion at the door as well.

Personal attacks against forum guests based on country, race, ethnicity, and lifestyle preferences will not be tollerated in any way ... Period, and we will be enforcing the moderators rules around here ... Period

Keep it clean (mostly) While the game is listed as mature, a lot of the people aren't
Keep it civil (always) arguing a little is fine, just keep it friendly

With those old DOS games, you need to use a utility to slow them down lol. Mo'Slo I think?

Yes, that was it; I remember using it to play my brothers DnD Goldbox games.
The GoG versions worked when I had Windows 7. Dunno about Windows 10 though, but Mo'Slo and Abandonia used to be good times.

One I wish they'd remake is The Perfect General/Lost Admiral. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Psxni70LyKs
<Edit: I had it on Windows and it sounds much better in the sweet midi tones of a Roland Tandy.>

I'll have to look into that, I have fond memories of them and my brother installing them on an ancient computer and figuring out how to get them on mine since his copies was on actual floppies, and not the stiff ones.

It amazes me that these games, with such basic graphics, hold up so well. They did a lot with very little! The old school games room at Pax is always packed.
Chef 30. Nov. 2020 um 17:03
The Zork collection is on Steam. I don't think I had to install anything else to play it.
Wolfpack 30. Nov. 2020 um 17:16
Yeah, I think they now bundle the DOS slower these days on Steam and GOG.

What about all the sierra games we played ... Like Quest for Glory, Space Quest with Roger Wilco. Then Betrayal at Krondor which had a game set in chapters with different followers with pretend 3D graphics ... what a step forward.

Ohhh yeah! I think I still have the eight disk stack of King's Quest 3" floppies somewhere. Space Quest isn't so funny to me now that I've spent half my life proverbially flipping burgers ... :winter2019surprisedsnowman:

One of the best in the adventure games genre, besides Monkey Island, has to be Star Trek 25th Anniversary. It was bloody brilliant!

A little video I thought you all might be interested in:

So, I'm in Pinewatch on my Mage, looking for the silver mold. One of the bandits is using the grindstone and I dual cast a fireball, getting a kill cam. her body is half slumped off the seat, but the wheel is still spinning and sending off sparks. Blasted the body clear with another fireball and the wheel keeps going.

Don't worry yourself about it. It's just one more minor glitch in the game of a thousand clitches. Nothing game breaking.
Not worried, just thought it was interesting.
Dont worry they have borrowed some Dvemer tech and uses steam to have the weel spinning, not sure where they get the steam from tho

She was just so dedicated to sharpening that blade that her ghost is going to haunt that grindstone until YOU temper it for her :steammocking:

Ghosts in the machine is Todd's speciality (though not by choice LOL)

Gooooooood Morning Tamriel!

Avrie wishes you well this first of Evening Star. It is Tirdas, and Avrie did manage to exit the wastes and get a good nap in last night. Excuse please while this one stokes the fires and draws fresh water for the kettles. There, much better no?

Brew of the day is Cafeceta de Cuba, and we're going to finish up the last of this batch of Toll house before trying that yummy new secret recipe. What secret recipe you say? Shhhh! You should know better.

Checking the hot sheets with a fresh cuppa we have 19 new. Bimbettes, beef, patches and goofs... Of course. Let's see what catches the eye today

iTardavk released a first mod. A simple renaming of the notched pickaxe to Hatsuned Pickaxe. Welcome

blackbeerd96 released Improved Vanilla UI Sounds
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42909

BA will respect this mod. Washes all the original UI through an EQ.
"More punch and click. Brings out the midrange a bit more. Slightly higher volume, this varies from file to file. Slight reverb. Overall cleaning." There are sample files, it does sound a bit crisper and slightly louder. Give this person a cookie for having way to much free time LOL.

jpitner released Half-Moon Chalet Player Home SSE
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42932

While Avrie is not fond of huge houses, this one was done with taste. What really catches the eye is the integration with the museum... you can change the display room into a library if you play with LOTD. Though to be honest It's still way too big for this cat's taste. He's totally out grown the need for 100 mannequins and weapon displays anywhere. Worth a look. Nicely done.

Arvaus released Female Briarhearts
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42916
While Avrie is all for sexual equality in general, even in games. This one is a "swing and a miss" as they say in the US. The location of the heart is Soooooo obviously wrong. This mod would have been outstanding if the author wasn't prudish. This is one of those mods/times when you have to put that childish crap aside ... If the female NPC had been given the topless Foresworn outfit, and a complete mastectomy on the left side with the heart properly placed it would be an instant download. Like this ... it's just wrong. No cookie

It seems Pickysaurus has managed to get a few free minutes away from Odyssey

Courier Delivers to NPCs
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42928
The courier will now occasionally deliver letters to NPCs in Skyrim.

This is an early WIP done as a test mod. "With this little mod, there will be a 7% chance of the courier arriving to deliver a letter to an NPC in the town/city you are in. The implementation is currently very crude, it was more to see if it could be done." Tracking

And finally ... Our mod of the day! Sound the trumpets and cue the dancing girls.

Bowgasm SE by Nicoroshi
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42929

This is the all in one this cat's been waiting for... Comes in two flavors just like the individual mods.

Bowgasm, places all of the unique bows in a single .ESL (Recommended)

Nicos AIO Vanilla Bow Replacer SE replaces all bows in game (too much of a good thing)

Avrie is calling Bowgasm and instant download and a three cookie mod. The bows are beautiful, and should be paired with I Want Better Arrows
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/39494

Which provides custom matching quivers for the bows ... Too good to pass up.

And that will do for today. The fires are stoked, the kettles scrubbed and the floors are swept. Have a seat by the fire and warm your bones. We-B-Open! :steamhappy:

Wow that sucks Speed. PITA, but a prudent move to change the locks and inform the police.
