I mean... if you want difficulty that's balenced I can reccommend two combat mods that work great together. Since I started Oldrim and found these mods I'll never use another combat mod. They just aren't the same D: I find they make the game play a lot more interesting. Beware of mages though! Play it smart or get the smack down by a mage.

That's the way I feel about Skytest, wildcat, and RAID ... the combo increases the base AI, and detection radius of all critters and enemies, not just weakening your weapons and increasing theirs. Yes a skeever can one shot you in the early game, and it can take a monumental effort to take down a mammoth ... but that's the way it should be. Having the bandits split up and flank you while seeking cover is a whole lot better than just making them stronger.

It's all personal choice, and so is the perception of balance which is why I get hot under the collar when mods like ordinator break stealth, and bows in favor of pointy sticks and call it balance, then add twin autofiring dwarven wrist cannons to the game ... balance?

You just have to find the mix that works for you. Ordinator is a really good mod, you'll want the Skyrim uncapper, and download Dirty Weasles uncapper.ini file for Ordinator. you can't play that mod without boosting the number of perk points you get in the early game.

Skyrim always cracks me up. Currently at Angi's camp doing the training and I keep intrupting Angi to move onto the next set of training. I think she got fed up cuz I interupted her again and she yelled, "What do you want Imperial!"
(character is an imperial)

I will d/l Ordinator and I'm going to add it to the mix and even some of the others for which I asked about sounds like it might be a fun playthorugh. Especially since I play one step below legendary on the difficulty settings. I heard that Legendary isn't really that great in regards to making them harder.

Deadly Encounters--Sands of Time will make your life a living h.ell.

Yeah you have that exactly right. Master is a great level to play. Legendary is just too much. It makes it so vanilla weapons do 1/8 damage while boosting enemy damage by almost 300%. It goes beyond reasonable game mechanics and just makes the game tedious and almost boring. getting one shotted by skeevers that takes 10 minutes to kill with an iron axe is not a lot of fun. Master is bad enough LOL

Thats why I've never used Legendary and stuck with Master as I've seen several post that said basically the same thing as that for which you just did.

Well then what are they would love to see if they are available for SSE? Currently I'm using "Skytest-Harder Creatures" if there are better ones I'd love to check them out.

Now as for SkyTEST there is about a 1/2 dozen of them for which is listed 2 I'm not interested in one of which is a German translation and the other is a fix for "Dwarven armored mud crabs" or something like that there.

I've got SkyTEST-Harder Creatures and SkyTEST Realistic animals and Predators mods.

I'll have to check the others and see about Wildcat and RAID .

I am using Combat Evolved with Deadly Combat. I also have SkyTEST. Actually without SkyTEST the animals are much tougher. Especially trolls so I do reccomend using SkyTEST with them both. That or just avoid animals at all cost, lol.
Deadly Combat : https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8850
Combat Evolved: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1525/
Both mods are fine by themselves but I always found using them together enhances the experiance and makes the combat much better. It also uses a "realism" to it where if you get hit by an arrow or a sword or a warhammer you will take a lot of damage. In light armor I find it essensital to stay away from things using two-handed weapons.
It gives more use to sheilds and keeps you on your toes. The NPC's will fight better and smarter as well.

I always use them together in all my play throughs. They are my top go to mods that I cannot play without.

Good morning everyone :).

@DragonMaster sorry about that things picked up a bit after replying to you yesterday. Seems like you've got a couple good reccommendations. I use a different animal mod but SkyTEST is just fine too :). In general though: Wildcat, Ordinator (I don't necessarily agree you need too many extra perks, but some is nice. The mod itself provides ways to get some extras in its own and my uncapper gives an extra at level 2 and then one extra every 20 levels), RAID, both parts of Skyrim Revamped, Scarcity and Economy and Speechcraft overhaul.

Without going into every one individually; outside you're alright things are just a bit more fun. the AI is smarter and can see you from further off. Bandits behave like they've actually fought before, and don't poke the bears.

Early on you're going to have to scrape together some gear from some scuffles or immediately start making it yourself because buying things reasonably requires a couple points Speech. As for loot, it's largely mundane in the open world. Every now and then there will be something shiny but the chests to be excited about are in the dungeons, specifically the boss chests. You'll want to take those smaller quests from unimportant NPCs because dungeon delving is NOT an easy early game activity anymore, they're scary. You'll want a follower, 15-20 levels or both. As a note I've pushed exp down a bit with the uncapper. I'm level 13, 64 hours into my file. I've only managed to take ou Saarthal and a handful of bandit caves.

Once you get to that 15-20 you can start taking on some of those deep delves more regularly. This is also when you can start seriously considering the guilds. You have to hold off for a bit at the start because the guilds like sending you into dungeons right away, and you'll die. A lot. Oh and the main quest is a more viable option now too if you want to chase that. 20-40 feel a lot like normal Skyrim just harder and with a new enemy here and there with some cool spells, which is fine for me after all, I quite like Skyrim. If you've taken on the main quest, I use a few dragons mods to make those feel like dragons. In vanilla I genuinely feel like the people of Skyrim can handle the problem without me. If the dragons didn't do the whole coming back from the dead thing, I could leave the task to Aventus and Sofie while I run about trying to collect Thane titles like trading cards.

After 40, things diverge again. Many new creatures start spawning, some on the world, most in the dungeons. Many of the magical creatures use Apocalypse (the magic mod) spells. Here you can start trying those quests where the entire thing basically revolves around one big bad. Red Eagle, Morvarth, etc. You wait this long for them because you want to have a few options when you engage them. Aside from being just plain strong, they also have mechanics. One of the Gaulderson brothers has an elemental cloak/shield spell that rotates. When it's on lightning it's not just a lightning cloak but it also makes him impervious to lightning based damage, fire same thing, ice same thing. Red Eagle does some crazy ♥♥♥♥ won't spoil, pro tip though, bring flame resist pots.

Anyway, it's not for everyone but I like my game having some relatively distinct "phases."

Hi everyone :)

It's been a while since I posted, so I thought I'd better pop in to let you all know I'm still around lol.
I'm melting in the heat over here in UK, so my brain has slowed to a crawl and everything is simply too exhausting.

I'm even having noob issues with my build. I tried everything to get it to load this morning, until I eventually remembered to load an earlier exterior save and then load the extremely demanding most recent save from in game lol.

And the reason why the most recent save was so demanding? I'd saved inside a house, with three followers and six 'recruits' in tow - and all of us were overburdened with loot :)

Yep, Surf's up to his usual tricks of straining everything until it breaks!

And I've only just started playing lol

Whew, just got through Forgotten Temple, Bring a lunch and a sleeping bag since it goes on forever. That's why it is Forgotten, the first guy in there never came out, he is still finding his way thru. After a few hours my Oldtimer's creeps in and I start praying for an exit. Kyne should be more pleased for doing that one.

More pix of my Breton boy's pets (since it is so quiet in here today lol).

Had this redoux of Meeko and Vigilance in my load order forever and I finally got around to playing it (Meeko is the black dog and Vigilance is the white one).
