if you give them better armor, they will wear it

There's also some mods on the nexus that'll let you customize them a lot more.

My follower is Uthgerd the unbroken and i never seen her wearing a breastplate i gave her but she is wearing a steel helmet i gave her tho. Is she wearing a steel breastplate by default?

this mod will allow you to set 3 different outfits

Or without any mod you can pickpocket their default armors. That should force them to wear whatever outfit you give them.

I did that , how ever after I dismissed them, they wandered around my house in the buff ;)

Your house steward is the same except anything you gave them previously disappears.

Followers ,house carls and stewards revert back to default armor/clothing. The only time they wear what you give them is when you take them adventuring. Unless you use a mod. The mod that allows you to wear multiple rings and necklaces is bugged. It does NOT allow your followers to wear ANY ring or necklace.

By Default, Uthgerd wears steel plate armor, which is a step above normal steel.

All your followers and potential followers have heavy or light armor preferences and 1h 2h weapon preferences. Obviously Uthgred is a heavy girl. (allthough, it might not be wise to pharse it that way to her face) As others have said, she already has plain plate, so she ain't gonna wear your plain steel junk, no matter how much you tell her that you love her. If you smith up your steel thing enough, she will wear it. It has to be better than what she has. You can even get her to wear that skimpy fur stuff, but you will need to put a heck of a smith job on it.

Serana, on the otherhand, likes the light. She will wear your elven, but has about as much use for your plain steel as Uthgred did.

I don't think this is the case, correct me if I'm wrong, follower wear armors/weapons according to base value and they will disregard upgrades value. At least this always for me.

No, they will consider smithing improvements. They go by the actual armour value, not just the base one.

My follower always put on let say a daedric armor as oppose to a more superior upgraded ones that I made, what's the problem with my game?

Edit : NVM, my memory is mixed up. Just checked and yeah I was wrong.
