If your game crashes when you load save file --

Not sure which mod, but after updating these mods today Skyrim hard crashed (no log file) on loading save file. Just removing the esps for these mods from Data fixed it.

Immersive Citizens (+Patch for OCS)
Beards
Deadly Bosses of Skyrim
TES Music Overhaul

♥♥♥♥ whichever of these four mod creators broke something btw, spent 1.5 hrs of my 5 hrs of free time trying to figure this out.

That's the problem with updating a mod mid-game. A simple update to a mod (even one that fixes a game-breaking bug) can make a previous save unplayable. You should never update a mod mid-game.

It actually prevented me from even creating a new save. The whole mod/not-mod decoupling wasn't implemented very well by Bethesda.

Well it should not be Deadly Bosses of skyrim, i have the same problem and that mod i dont have. I also do not have the patch of Immersive Citizens.

And you probably broke your save. You are probably better of starting a new playthrough now.

I recommend disabling Immersive Citizens using the configuration power INGAME before updating or disabling.

This is put into the mod for a reason.

Updating/disabling mods during a playthough is very risky and now any save you make during this playthrough will probably continue to have issues.

And you probably broke your save. You are probably better of starting a new playthrough now.

Luckily it looked like it was just the Beards mod, and I havent had any problems since this. But you're right, I'll avoid updating mid-save from now on.

Btw, the beards mod works great if you download it from the nexus, its suposedly the same files but the built in mod manager seems to not be great.
