Craft arrows?
Is there a way to craft arrows? Instead of finding them?

If you have the lowest smithing perk , should be to make iron aroows . you just need some firewood (yuo need an woodcuutter's axe) . then eighter buy iron ore (or mine or steal it) , melt it down to iron ingots at asmelter ( or buy the ingots if out prefer) .

One firewood , one iron ingot will give 24 iron arrows . hope that helps .

You can craft arrows, but you need one of the DLCs if I remember correctly. I believe it was the dragonborn DLC.

Nah, only the bolts (and crossbows). Regular arrows are easy. I suggest Whiterun, as there's a chopping block close by the forge, and the ingot of your choice. Oh, and you'll need a chopping axe, which...if anyone sells it, I haven't seen any. I just looted one in a cave somewhere.

I forget the name of it, but there is a mod that adds arrow crafting to the game.

Search it up in the in-game mod browser.

It had a weird name, like "Arx Metallica" or something like that.

Ars metallica will allow you to craft arrows without the appropriate perk, however, it does a whole lot more than that.

You can always craft iron arrows without mods, but everything else requires the right perk in vanilla.

there should be a woodcutter's axe out side of Belethor's shop. his helper is always out there cutting wood. I think there might be one in Riverwood by one of the chopping blocks. you can usually find a woodcutter's axe and mining picks in front of and in mines.
like others have said, you need the right mining perk to be able to craft the different arrows, you can craft iron arrows right off the bat though.
leveling up smithing is a good way to add a little bit extra to an archer play through, craft you own arrows and boost armour

This is almost correct.
Arrow smithing was added by Dawnguard DLC, along with crossbows and their bolts. Not sure if you need Dawnguard DLC activated in datafiles, or if you can craft them straight away in SE.

Can you craft higher than iron arrows?

Yep, all the way up to Dragonbone arrows.

firewood and dragonbone = dragonbone arrows

If you cannot find a woodcutter's axe in Whiterun: In Riverwood, there is a chopping block near the smithy (just over the bridge), where Faendal fetches wood all day - and on a table nearby lies an axe you can take.

You could always pickpocket all the arrows from the one guy in the Thieves Guild and replace it with any arrow you want. Hell use those for taget practice, then take those he leaves in the practice dummy.

that is pretty brilliant. I always snag up the arrows from the dummy, never thought to make him shoot good ones.
